ZDL ANALOG STUDIO-5 for winamp-5 - Reel-To-Reel, compact cassette analog studio for winamp-5

Staff review

Remember that old machine, what was it called again?

Here it is, good for hours of musical enjoyment on those long tapes.

This Is The Best Thing Ever!!! - this skin ROCKS!!!!! I actualy stopped listening music on windows media player because of this skin, and to make it look better i stretched the recorder on the whole screen, now it can fit and my music and my style of the 70s. Rock Lives!!! - September 14, 2007 by Ronn B.

Real cool machine.. - Been searching for a skin like this for so long....Excellent in every way...Well done...!!! - June 18, 2007 by Bob Johnson

Definitely Retro! - This is a really good skin. It has a few color themes too! Gives me an 80s kinda feel. (I grew up in the 80s so it's a nice nostaglic feel) The VU meters, spectrum analyzers and other lights are just fantastic. You gotta check this one out! - December 1, 2006 by Chris Davis

Reel Nostalgia - This is reel wonderful. It takes me back... well I’m not that old. I always wanted of the big reel tape players in my house and still do. Now I have one and in rasta colours yet. jah rasta fari - October 20, 2006 by Perry Gibbs

Absolutly Great - Ist a very great Skin.It looks like a real Big Bandmachine from 1975. good Works, thanks a lot. - July 1, 2006 by Kai Wilhelm

i say... - just cool, in Poland we say ZAJEBISTY - March 3, 2006 by Krzysztof Janiak

Oh my!!! - This is by far the best skin i have ever seen. Being a audio tech this is right up my street. Great work!! - March 2, 2006 by chris scanlon

? - Super. Good old times - February 27, 2006 by Mario Todorov

this is one of the best - I wish there was a higher rating because a 5 does not do it. I give it a ten + This reel to reel looks just like My real 16 track real to reel Keep up the great work.I just have to download every reel to reel I see and this tops them all. So when do we see a 8 track player version. or a Recorder Player version the more retro the better. Just want to say I love it and want to see many more for you guys. (hint 8 track or recorder player skins coming soon I hope) - February 4, 2006 by Glen Vanauken

a beauty that shows off audio history - congratulations! it's just as i remember how my father's reel-to-reel functioned and worked. - February 4, 2006 by chacal la chaise

Wow - Great skin - December 18, 2005 by Radenkovic aca

Creative - It really does look like a old player we used to have. I like how the buttons to close it and minimize it show as x and such when you put the mouse over it, so you know what it does for sure. - November 27, 2005 by Mairead RaeTalis

I love reel-to-reel but... - This skin looks much better as a screenshot than it does in actual use. Though it's very pretty and a GREAT concept (I've always been fond of reel-to-reel), the animations are too choppy for my liking. Great work though! - November 14, 2005 by Kris Mancuso

Truly Retro - This is what I think of when I think "Retro". The reel to reel takes me back to when I was a soundman for a working band. Very excellently done! - November 1, 2005 by Ron Miller

Crashes Winamp 5.1 - While the "Winamp 3.xx" version , of this skin works just fine on my computer . The version , of this skin for "Winamp 5.xx" makes Winamp 5.1 on my computer crash as soon as I click on the play button . The error message on my computer says something about memory module and scripts . - October 4, 2005 by fred falcon

this is great - what an awsume skin - September 24, 2005 by d m

Makes My Winamp Crash - It looks neat , but every time I tried to use it , my Winamp crashed , I'm running Win XP , an AMD 3000XP processor , with 512 MB , of Ram . - September 11, 2005 by fred falcon

very VERYcool! - it looks very cool!!! This skin is excellent!!! I won't use any other skin than this. Everything is well animated and it starts up faster than the default winamp modern skin. ... ... ... ... ... ... Why can't I give a 6-star rating? - September 2, 2005 by Sleepwalker Designs

my personal fave - very cool and, of course, functional. Lots of cool goodies to look at. Old school needle outputs are always welcome. Reminds me of late 1980s studio before digital became the norm. - August 18, 2005 by Scott Rogers

Groovy! - A really cute idea, just needs to be brightened up. It's too drab. - August 1, 2005 by Jill Katz

looks are good - and this looks like it is the only reel to reel i am going to get working for me as mine are shorted out. this is great coloring. - July 18, 2005 by keith hall

Redback101 - One of the best skins I have ever seen. Good work !! - May 8, 2005 by Shaun Lacey

Tape rolls or two smileys? - Anyway the design is good, idea good, color perhaps not so dark but then avoid gray shades would look more realistic. Never seen this kind of stuff in black background. Carry on !!! - April 4, 2005 by P K

98 compatability - Hiya, I think this skin looks completely amazing and I really want to be able to use it, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with Windows '98. Any ideas? I tried downloading both versions because it's just the best skin on here, but it's a real shame I can't use it... - February 24, 2005 by Felicity Ford

great job - works perfect and it is a really nice design - February 2, 2005 by alf red

rad - one of the best - January 23, 2005 by Brian Ward

ZDL ANALOG STUDIO-5 - I've always used this skin. I think it's great! I used to have a reel-to-reel set up similar to this. Ahhh...those were the days! Good job! Great skin! - January 17, 2005 by Greg Lobeck

Error - Old format... Winamp could crash if you install :| Very nice skin tho - January 5, 2005 by Otto vanZanten

?ber-cool - What the heck?! The funniest skin I have ever seen! Congrat! - November 26, 2004 by sokoo mester

Best skin!!! - Wow!!! This is the best skin I have ever seen! I have seen some really good skins in the past but this skin is the very best yet. Extreme effort. This skin is definitly worth downloading. - November 26, 2004 by Alex Gard

You've got a serious bug - Dude it's a great looking skin , but it's making a lot of people's computers freeze when they try to use it . - November 19, 2004 by fred falcon

whacked out man - This skin is totally tight, I love it. It's got a nice color, which fits my wallpaper and also the color of my DSP-plug in. Crazy Good. I have had trouble the first time I used it, because my comp froze (probably not the skin's fault). I have used this one when it was a Winamp 3 release, and I love it. Now, with the Win5 release, I lov it even more. The VU's actually work, and it has got tripped out features. Well Wow. - September 16, 2004 by the bonehead

Broadcast Love - I've worked in broadcasting for more than 15 years, and my production-tech-side has fond memories of Otari which makes a darn good reel to reel that looks a lot like this. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that I sort of fell in love with this one. I like seeing the reels turn to confirm action (as if the sound weren't enough, duh!) The funny thing is I've found myself avoiding touching those reels out of force of habit so I won't funk up the playback... ) Anyway, it's obviously pretty, and functional, and on a P2 400 with 128mg memory it's not too much of an energy drag. The down side, to be honest, is that for me, and anyone else, you'd better be into the graphics as part of this design effectively makes memorization of functions a devotion of love. While some are obvious (arrows etc are fairly classicly understood) you will have to spend a few moments discovering what to hover over to get to the other controls. So that gets this rated as a 4 instead of a five, which I think is fair. But it does make your sytem look quite cool. Your friends may ask you (as they did me) if your computer is actually interfaced with some real hardware... which in radio world does happen now, and maybe tommorrow... this interface will do just that in your home. Enjoy! - July 8, 2004 by Dan Gonzalez

old player - very nice design! - May 2, 2004 by oddsocks jl

What the F#%K - This is THE BEST/COOLEST/BADDEST, and more off those words... I just got this computer this week and I downloaded this skin my computer just went up in vallue... as we say in Holland Vette shit man.. (the dogs bollocks) Keep 'm comming like this.. Joey - April 14, 2004 by Joey Page

Bloody brilliant! - Has great looks and great features, I love it, thanks Mike! :D - March 30, 2004 by Lisa Hurring

Schaweet! - A visualization in itself. Well done. I particularly like the interface switch from reel to reel to cassette (Depending on how retro one feels). (Perhaps add a third view of a turntable or vertical CD player for the next release). Grade A Skin! - March 8, 2004 by Kurt M

Grrrreat skin - I remember these reel to reel decks were the epitamy of sound recording devices. This is one great skin. My congrats to Mike. - February 12, 2004 by les pickell

Great job. - I like this skin very much, it is very eye pleasing to see all the bars blissfully move together in a effortless motion will the large discs move. It looks very well done, and like it has been worked on for a long time. Great job on this skin man, and thanks for all the hard work to come up with it. - February 5, 2004 by Salman Ashraf

Super Teil!!! - Da ich mich sehr f?r alte Analogger?te Interresierte, finde ich das Teil Hammergeil!!!Super gemacht. - February 5, 2004 by Matthias Aschrich

Cool skin!!!! - You have the bug in visualisation... Kill it and your skin will be the best!!! %) - February 3, 2004 by Alexey Tcherkassov

The Definitive Skin - This is the best winamp skin ever. It retains the flavor of what winamp looked like when it first came out and also has all them latest 5.0+ features! - January 28, 2004 by Anselm Fernandez

Ron - This skin gives a great initial impression, which is hardly surprising considering the complexity of it. Hats off to the designer- I bet a heck of a lot of work into making it. However beautiful it is though, I thought it was a bit too much me to look at for any length of time, and found that I returned to my winamp default skin fairly quickly. - January 25, 2004 by Ron Hoaste

Big! - Beautfull! - January 20, 2004 by Harley D
