SIGH... - Why do ALL winamp spectrum analyzars have a **linear** freqency axis?Real audio spectrum analyzers always have a **logarithmic** frequency axis: the (horizontal) space from 25Hz to 50Hz equals the space from 50Hz to 100Hz equals the space from 1kHz to 2kHz and so forth.Such a display provides a much more meaningful view of the spectral makeup of an audio signal.The linear frequency axis makes for a pretty picture, but does not give any meaningful information. - December 12, 2007 by freakin' dutchman

If only... - This plugin looks great and has a good batch of configuration options that would definitely make it my visualization of choice if it wasn't for a couple very annoying problems.First, it attaches to winamp and I can't drag it around or resize it. Second, it seems to have serious problems with moving around the screen. When it's attached, moving the main window causes it to flicker and it becomes impossible to move it to my secondary screen. Also, when I tried the "attach to nothing" setting, as soon as I tried to move the vis window, it disappeared (probably moved to an off-screen coordinate), never to be seen again. - August 29, 2007 by Joe Average

The ONLY Visual Plug-in I'm using - I'm using this plugin to monitor the quality of the mp3 and it's really great with its accuracy!This plug-in has some issues when using it with the new WinAmp GUI (as opposed to the classic gui).I'm using 1.61a together with 5.08d. It works well and I have no interest in updating right now.The following issues are:1. When starting up WA the plugin doesn't start up automatically. I'm living with it and when I want to activate it I click twice on the VIDEO/VIS button.2. When configuring it, it doesn't attach properly to the WA main window and it may even "disappear". When looking into the .ini file to see whats wrong I saw the number -32332 or sth as the position coordinates. When I changed the coords to within the screen range (0-1919, 0-1199) it came back after re-start. So the workaround to this is to let it float freely and not attach it to the window.3. When running WA with this plug-in, Windows is unable to show level 2 sub-menus. I.e I cannot open File-Save in M$ Word 2003 or open sub-manus in "All Programs" in the start menu. The only workaround for this is either to use hotkeys or quit WA. Once WA is closed the menus come back again. This issue may have been addressed in later versions of WA and/or the plug-in. - July 30, 2007 by Arthur Dent

Problem - I used this vis a couple years ago with an earlier version of Winamp and Win 98. Now for some reason, it won't work. Not sure if it's Win XP or Winamp 5.2 that's the problem, though. Either way, it's a great analyzer. Just wish I could get it to work. :( - March 1, 2006 by Five0two 502

Definitely at least worth a try. - I had been looking for something like this forever. It's surprisingly hard to find a good spectrum anaylizer plugin, I suppose because most people are satisfied with the built in one. Actually, I wanted to give this one a 4.8 because it has one annoying bug. When it's running, sub menus under the program files of the start menu seem to just dissapear. This has affected me through different video cards, versions of directx, and even windows itself, so it isn't a bug in my pc. Of course, this is hardly a fatal error and all you have to do is close it for a moment with the shortcut keys to run stuff, then switch back and open it again. Other than that this plugin has never given me the slightest problems. Overall, this plugin is a good choice if you aren't looking for some flashy opengl full screen thing with colorful objects bouncing around but you want a nice accurate spectrum analyzer that even can show both channels seperately. Now if only someone would make a spectrogram... Oh yeah, and to the person complaining that they listen to cds, it's not the plugin's fault. First, you have to set winamp to sample the cd audio from your soundcard for ANY plugin (including the built in visualizations) to work with cd audio and second, you have to have it properly set up and configured so that it actually can sample the cd audio. Definitely don't blame the plugin because you didn't set things up right. - May 7, 2003 by Nazo San

Amazing MP3 Plug in...Spectral Analyzer - This is the best of the best, tweaks enable many amazing blends. This is my favorite partial screen visualization...do NOT hesitate to pick this one up! Sexy Attached Analyzers - If you consider yourself an audiophile of any worth you gotta d/l this.....I looked long and hard for a plug-in of this calibre and I can tell you something.....it was well worth the wait....only thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that on my XP Pro system, if you try to change any of the settings while it's running......it hangs then quits......other than that, it's an excellent Plug-in.........Kudos to the author :) - March 12, 2003 by Randall Thomas

my favorite plug-in - I have got lot of plug-ins, but satan plug-in is my first choise. I use it for classic eq visualation. it is very configuratible and i like it very much.
