Flashing, sparkling, spinning stars bounce to the beat

Flashing, sparkling, spinning stars bounce to the beat

Alpha blended sparkling stars follow crazy sine+cosine based paths, all the while gyrating and oscillating to your tunes. Uses OpenGL, and a lot of it, so it's recommended that you're using a 3d accelerator on par with a TNT2. [New Version 1.4.1 (08/22/01) adds 11 different customizable stars, improved southern crane style trippiness, and removes many bugs]

Staff review

MadSpin visuals

Wow.... this one is an extra specially nice treat for your eyes. Overwhelmingly enticing sparkles and flashes dazzle your eyes into near addictive submission. Sound good? Well, it definitely looks good. Download this. New version eliminates evil and combats the forces of wrong. New stars are added...and improved psychadelia all around.

Superdelic - This thing is super - just turn on some super dance mixes and turn out the lights you will not be sorry. Thanks for the super plug in, DJ Exxtasee - August 5, 2005 by John Draisey

*Sparkle* - The best visualization plugin ever. Turn your MAG screen to "vivid" mode and you've got a the lights for your party! - March 13, 2003 by Eran Yahav

Don't stare at it too lon......nnnn.....ggggg....*twitching* - (cardiac infarct warning) Thats really fast oh yeah. I would say it hard at the border at that the brain can realise movements. Really one of the best beside geiss, tripex or milkdrop. [CHROMAX] - October 2, 2002 by chro max

Awesome plugin - This plugin is great! The stars look nice and sparkly, and it runs uber-fast even fullscreen at the highest resolution. Not to mention it looks great. nice work :) - July 14, 2002 by Exor albert

Maybe i'm wrong but... - Plug-ins aren't supposed to restart your computer and magically cause the FAT32 tables to get all messed up are they? No. That's not cool at all.. - April 3, 2002 by tansy k

Madspin forum - Hey, go here, talk about madspin. And there might be info about betas which run faster/look better.... http://pub45.ezboard.com/fmadspinforumfrm1 - January 29, 2002 by Javier Lopez

Bling, Bling - Love it, unique, but requires resources - January 1, 2002 by Vushtrrinaz Vushtrrinalia

Sweet Plugin - This plugin is AWESOME! Runs sweet, 1024x768 32b at 100fps on my geforce 3, highly reccomended! - December 22, 2001 by Frio Ohki

It works great although my comp is pretty good... - My comp is a 1.4 Ghz AMD Athlon machine with a Geforce 2 GTS 64 MB DDR card - I can get about 40 fps at 1024 res with 32 bit depth, which isn't much, but I guess going by everybody else that's pretty damn good. The author should optimize the code. There also seems to be a problem with memory leaks and/or screwing up other areas of memory (for example, it can screw up other programs). - December 6, 2001 by J S

Just the Best! - As for me, MadSpin it's the best visual plugin since the Acidspunk was published. It looks incredible, has an awesome visuals and a very good beat detection. MadSpin it's the best plug-in for home parties - just switch off the light and you will understand, what I'm talking about. I can't guess the reason of slowness of this plug-in on some reviewer's computers. IMHO, this plug-in it's pretty fast - on my K6-2 500 with 112 Mhz FIC MB and S3 Savage 2000 it runs at about 17-18 fps (800x600x32bpp), on my friend's K6-2 500 with TNT2 Vanta it runs at 11-12 fps. If it "hangs", try to wait some time, because MadSpin starts 3-5 seconds after launching. - November 14, 2001 by Mieczyslaw Metus

nice, but useless - this visual is very nice but unless you have a high end computer it sends your computer in a madspin to crashdom or at least did with me on my 400. - September 28, 2001 by James Biddulph

THIS IS THE ONE - One word says it all --- AWSOME!!!!!!!!! - August 18, 2001 by Frances Blackstone

GenesisX - DAMN!! This plugin is the best one I've seen yet. It is the shit when you're trippin. Just sit back and stare at the sparkles for hours. !! - July 10, 2001 by Mark Zapalac

Flash, Flash --Jerk-- - Want to induce some really quick lights? This has to be the VIS that would win the 'responsive' contest. Maybe it should lay off the coffee :) - July 1, 2001 by Robert Atkinson

3D!!!! - Wow! I'm not a great Visualizatio plugin collector, but I'd never seen that 3D specs option before... It's great!!! Why didn't anyone think of that before? - June 29, 2001 by Javier Ruiz

THE MAN - EXCELENT!!!!!!!!!!!! - June 10, 2001 by Tom Greathouse

Ass Kickin Or What ! - Man! This plugin really rules! Have at least a low memory AGP installed and look at it go! Neat, sleek - What else can I say? The interface has different customizble options which makes the plugin more descent. - June 2, 2001 by Samwan Bin Rob

TRIPPED OUT!!!! - JUST SIT THERE AND GAZE AT IT AND YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN ANOTHER PLAIN OF EXISTENCE! - April 29, 2001 by William Dawson

Sweet - It's better than most of the others... more themed, but that makes it cool (Seems faster too). Also, you can actually still use WinAmp with it on fullscreen (and configure options). Nice. - April 25, 2001 by Chas Ellis

Good work reethaxor! - YORU PLUGIN IS SOO GOOD. YOU SHOLD MAKE A NEW ONE THO, WITH MORESTUFF AND CALL IT MAD SPNI 2 AND ADD FETURES LIKE CAHNGING THE STUF THAT COMES UP WEN YOU DO RANDOM SETTINGS TING. - April 22, 2001 by Jesus Christ

Excellent idea! - No-one's seemed to comment on a the wonderful feature of a few of the palletes in this plugin. Grab a pair of red/blue 3d-glasses and then cycle through the pallets in MadSpin. You'll find the ones that work. It RULES! - April 18, 2001 by Dave God

Very interesting - I'm at a loss for words, a very indescribable (but very cool) vis plugin. Pretty fast, IMO, good response to beat, and very trippy. It's not something I can watch for very long, (a little too flashy) which is the only reason I don't give this thing 5 stars. - April 14, 2001 by Evan Clinton

worse thing i ever downloaded - If you have a slow computer DO NOT down load this. On mine it was very very slow. Its not as good as it looks - April 14, 2001 by Cody Rauchman

WoW - THIS is the best Plug-in for WinAmp!!! Just get it!! - April 13, 2001 by Joey Zaremba

Simply amazing - As soon as I saw this plug-in in action I was lost in its beauty. The visuals are amazing. I'm speechless. - April 1, 2001 by Alan Hatter

Dear lord, this is a sexy plugin. - Well, I've been floored... a jawdropping trip through phosphorescent starfields. A bit taxing on the computer, what with the OpenGL, but it's all worth it. I'm impressed. And oddly satisfied, at that. - March 30, 2001 by Joseph Sola
