ZDL Reel-To-Reel Analog Tape Machine - Original ZDL-AMP Reel-To-Reel Machine updated for winamp-5.23

Staff review

Retro

Really sets a mood. The color scheme is very nice, however some parts are just a tad bit hard to read. Love the animations.

the best - its the best what i ever seen!!!brilliant job!!!i hope u gonna beat urself and come with something else!maybe better?! - December 23, 2007 by Michal Mikus

It's Great! - I really like reel to reel recorders it's filled with spirit of the 70s and i still own one recorder by myself and more then 100 audio tapes with Jimi Hendrix,Boston,Creedence,Janis ... and str. It would be really great if there would be more skins like this that would remind everyday audio equipment. Thanks for the skin! Ronn B. - December 22, 2007 by Ronn B.

Real old school - This one brings back memories...can almost see the old reel-to-reel going... - September 1, 2007 by P TS

Absolute Brillience!!! - This is my first time posting a review and it's probably only been done because this skin thourghly deserves it. An excellently put together skin. As a sound engineer, it's pure pleasure using it and been thrown back into the Old School vibe of R2R. Wasn't so sure about it at first before downloading it and reading some of the reviews, But I was VERY quickly won over and I think that alot of the reviews were unjust and unfair. And obviously by the number of downloads, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Keep up the good work Mr. Zee. Hope to see more very soon - March 14, 2007 by Mick Rogers

5.23 issues and update important note. READ! - Official note from Mike Zee (ZDL): To get the updated version of this skin for winamp 5.23 and later go to: www.mzentertainment.com/skins.htm ********* Due to some in-site data base problems I can not upload updated version of this skin that fixes graphical issues when used with winamp 5.23 and later. So untill the skin updating problem is fixed the only way for me to offer the updated version of this skin is to direct the user to ZDL-skins official web-page. ********** This note also was to respond to the last two review posts. ********** Thank You, Mike Zee aka Dr ZEE MZEntertainment.com - September 26, 2006 by Mike Zee

OK! - This is a good skin, however, as stated in the past I kept getting "Image not available" across the rolling tape reels and on other graphics running 5.24. I may too delete this one, because of the issue. - August 24, 2006 by David Terbeek

Excellent but Buggy - I used this skin, it's awesome, but I kept getting "Image not available" across the rolling tape reels and on other graphics. I suggest fixing this thing. I ended up deleting it because of it's bugs. - August 17, 2006 by Bethany Spielman

very nice - its the best skin ive ever used... thank you very much for puplishing :)) - July 19, 2006 by snow ster

good animations! - A bit small, but a good effort! - February 19, 2005 by Kermath Davies

Really rotation? No! - This skin is good idea, but reels and arrows in meters based of framed animation. Use the rotationlayer.m in your skins - it's better. - December 25, 2004 by Egor Petrov

Old but New!! - It's Old-New! Post Modern Amp! - October 9, 2004 by Yasuyuki Fujishiro

flashing back now - 26 years ago when I started my career in radio, reel to reel was "the" state of the art media within the industry. I learned how to edit, multi-track, and create amazing forward-backward efx using analogue machines. Although digital uses the same concepts, it is worlds faster. I can create the same piece in 15 minutes that used to take 2 hours. So now I will listen to digital music on a digital music player... that at least looks like the old time machines. - August 10, 2003 by Wendy Wilde

it's great - i like it. so cooool. especially, classical style.... but a little big - July 31, 2003 by yh jung

ZDL Reel to Reel - OK I suppose there's retro and then there's flash retro. This is the only skin I will use because it's r2r. r2r is the only audio retrieval system I use because sequential access is the natural order. I'm new here, but what I'd really like to see is a r2r skin based on the classic English r2r decks built in the 1940's and 1950's. You've got Brenell, Ferrograph, Revox, Truvox, Vortexion... Given a choice I'd recommend the Vortexion CBL6 stereo deck as the design goal. The offset head assembly of the Wearite deck flanked on either side by the independent record/replay (tube) amps - all finished in the exquisitely understated duck egg green colour of the time - make this a natural classic. I believe this skin would be an instant success worldwide. Anybody want to quote me a price? Love Dave - April 20, 2003 by Dave Chesterman

It's alright, but... - The skin looks wonderful, and I would gladly use it all the time if it wasn't for one thing. I am from Ukraine, so I often play mp3 files with Cyrillic ID3 tags. Using such tags makes WINAMP shut down, when this skin is on:( This bug should be fixed somehow. - April 5, 2003 by Gennady Shpak

Big but nice - Very classic. No totally pretty, but somehow it's got style. - March 24, 2003 by Ryan Butler

I love ZDL stuff - i'm a fan of ZDL stuff...just so cool - March 11, 2003 by David Ponce

Kick ass - This skin is far out I love it very creative and differant adds a nice feel and complements my music I would recomend this skin to anyone who appreciates style - January 24, 2003 by Panther Deviant

blast from the past - I like the concept behind this skin. A throwback to days past with elements of the future. Please keep up the good work. - January 17, 2003 by Lou Lange

tape machine - it looks nice but i just can't download the bloody thing. - January 2, 2003 by aad duivestein

Neat-o Skeet-o - I really like this skin. If you've ever done reel-to-reel for any reason, it really takes you back. - December 15, 2002 by Marian Black

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!! - This is the best skin i have ever seen. lots of graphics, colours and extras! the only downside is that there's only on colour scheme. :( - December 9, 2002 by Mek Warrior

JoJo - I cant get it to download! - November 29, 2002 by Joseph Rake

Awesome Retro - Don't listen to the naysayers, Mike and keep up the retro skins. When I was a kid we didn't have TV yet, and I'll bet half the people here couldn't tell the difference between a TV showed that's been filmed or taped! Excellent series of WA3 skins! - November 23, 2002 by Christopher Tarana

very nice - very nice - October 27, 2002 by Serge Fugere

question? - Can anyone here say "Overkill"?. Don't get me wrong now. this is one of my most favorite skins (hell it is my most favorite skin) because it is completely skinned. there is a small problem though TOO MANY VU METERS. you got 6 of 'em here. I know that it only counts as two because they're only doing two channels (left and right) but do you really need 3 vu meters to do one channel?. then there is the case of the spectrum anylizers, TWO OF THEM???? why? no reason that i can think of except to waste my time ohhhing and ahhhing over this skin. I LOVE THIS SUMBICH. the only problem is the DARN VU METERS AND THEIR SLOOOOOWWWWNESS (only problem). Other than that KEEP UP TEH GUD WERK (lol) - October 25, 2002 by Jonathan Joy

Is this really the last one? - This is great it-has all the features I ever wanted: windowshade mode, functionality and weird looks. Thx Mike Zee - October 1, 2002 by Michael Lichterman
