YMS Status Changer

Displays the current song information (flexible formatting& effects) in the Yahoo! Messenger status.

This General Purpose Plugin can change the Yahoo! Messenger status text with the current playing song information, such as the title, artist, song name, or playlist entry number. Here are some features:
- flexible text formatting;
- global hotkeys support;
- customizable behavior (e.g. not to change the status while invisible, etc.)
- special effects with the status text :)
- no ads or any unsolicited text in the status! - it's your plugin and you can put any text you want there

Wow, this'll be cool. - Too bad it doesn't work on YIM 9 -- It doesn't work when scrolling is turned off, but something weird happens when you turn scrolling on -- what it does is change the status to EMPTY and if you try to change it while the plug in is active, it'll change it back to empty -- so that part's working every 1500 MS (as configured) -- but it doesn't put the proper text up.. Sweet - Nice plugin!!! Works good, one problem... - Plugin apparently writes to the registry...adds a new "custom" status message to status menu after each song, then doesn't remove them. Unless I'm mistaken the only way to remove custom status messages is by editing the registry. - November 14, 2006 by Shan Flynn

Worked for a while - Worked for a while but then it got stuck... It does change the status on my end, even when songs change; but on the other end people do not see the status changing. Why the excitement??? - I cannot understand why these people are so excited. The plugin is so buggy and messes with the messenger. After having tried some of its options, the messenger showed the status only to myself (being blank - "available" to the others)! and nothing (closing, exiting, logging with another ID, repairing the installation etc) could fix that. Also, "do not change status if invisible" did not work. A long way to go, a lot of programming to learn before creating a reasonable plugin. - November 15, 2005 by Sore In

It's cool when work, but........ - Ok guys, when this plugin work you gonna be cool. Not just tell your buddy what you listening are, it's also can add another text. But, the most important problem is : you won't get this plugin work! Seriously guy! I have it work after try some dumb thing, restart my winamp, restart my yahoo, and finally it work after i change my status in yahoo. Good on Basic Functionality - Talking about the basic functionality of this plugin which is setting your yahoo status to whatever is playing in your winamp. Works smoothly, pretty much formattable as well. The only problem with this is the "experimental" text scrolling functionality. It works well for a few minutes but 15 minutes or more, the status text stop scrolling and you get disconnected from Yahoo, and cannot connect again not unless after 30 min or so... It got stuck with the song that was played when i enabled it- so the status didn't change along with the songs plaied in winamp...not nice...the only way the status changed was if i reconfigured it every time the song changed...beahh...maybe it's just me!
