Provides Winamp controls in the foreground app's title bar: new version fixes IE5/NT problem and adds track title

Does away with the need to have Winamp taking up screen space (sorry!) by squeezing a selection of control buttons and the current track title into the right hand side of the foreground applications title bar.Source also available.Latest version has improved display, track time, and is more robust.

Great plugin! - I love this plugin, it does exactly what I want. The only problem I have found is that when you minimize a window, the text that was showing the title of the song still stays, overlayed on top of whatever is now behind the window you minimized. not sure what causes this, but if you open another window the text will jump to that one (and will do the same if you minimize again). I'm running WinXP professional, with an ATI gfx card, DX9.0c - June 19, 2007 by Chris Jennings

Fu... I mean, dang - Can't get it to work with Vista. - May 27, 2007 by Z M

A good idea - A simple yet awesome plug in. Rivals WMP's Start Menu controls, and is even better. Though it doesnt integrate too well with Windows XP (it changes the way the window boxes look so that they better match the WinampBar buttons but they don't match XP's style anymore), it is great for Windows 2000- users. - July 1, 2004 by Justin Williams

Quite possibly the best thing ever. - A simple idea but perfect. You wouldn't think that not having to switch to WinAmp now and again to skip a song would make much difference but it does. Absolutely recommended. And no stability issues on my computer anyway. - May 2, 2004 by James Lan_Doky

beautiful...! - As good as it sounds. Wonderful plugin!!! - January 17, 2004 by Laura Jones

Sorry, man - The plugin is cool and all... it's nice not to have to shift window focus... but unfortunately, it totally f'd with my computer! For the longest time I was having the weirdest crashes on my computer... I removed this plugin yesterday and my problems are gone! You gotta work the bugs out... - September 15, 2003 by Alan Karna

nice - one - April 21, 2003 by Jens D

Awesome plugin. - However, it messes up Windows XP pretty bad. Oh well.. *uses Windows Classic* - April 12, 2003 by Aquatakat the Kat

screw-up-your-winampware - i dled it...shouldnt have! it fucking screwed winamp i had to restart to be able to even delete it - September 20, 2002 by jc jc

finally i found what i need... - just read what the other guys wrote,it is all true!!!!!! get it ! - August 14, 2002 by andreas finken

Er.. - Eh, it was a cool plug-in... but may i suggest the makers allow you to put the controls where you want on the toolbars? I have Microsoft Office, and the icons for quickstart are right over the controls. - August 5, 2002 by Sam Stopit

Someone give the author a medal! I give it 10 stars! - I hate having to mazimise winmap every time i want to pause a song, and i do it a lot. I use a program called KaZaA which downloads music and i like to pause Winamp so i can hear how far the downloading songs have got. First i downloaded 4 exe files which would Play, Pause and jump to next and previous track. i tried to them make as accessable (sorry bout spelling) as best i could but failed. This plugin is brilliant, with a but of custoizing its perfect. Default settings display the title of the winamp song on the title bar which can cover things up, but you CAN remove this. - August 5, 2002 by Luke Beale

XP doesnt like it - This is a really nice plug in especially if you dont like flipping through multiple windows but in windows xp it will reset the themes of the open windows to "classic" instead of the sculpted XP themes but otherwise really cool plug in. - August 4, 2002 by Sean Shannon

its good but... - if you added a playlist option it would be even great...just a thought... - August 3, 2002 by d p

wow - this is amazing. even if you dont like winamp you can just use it to put a clock on your title bars. dunno why but i think that'd be cool. - June 10, 2002 by Mark Clements

Best Plugin Ever - Ok, I take my hat off. This plug in gives me new reason to use winamp. I have to admit, I was getting drawn to MusicMatch, but with plugins like this, I can't switch. I will never again have to keep bringing up the damn winamp window to change tracks. Well done my friend... well done! - June 8, 2002 by Rich Hudak

N i c e!! - This is Fabulous! And for anyone that says this is unstable, (I seriously recommend you upgrade from your WINDOWS 3x PUTER!! BeebMonkey condemns the 16-bit bandits!) for goodness sake! This rocks! BeebMonkey Has Spoken! - May 23, 2002 by Beeb Monkey

hell yes! - winamp is stealth anyway, but THIS badboy really helps when you just have to have a window maximized AND see the title. Great work man. - May 11, 2002 by t0rque bolt

love this - especially at work. thank you so much :o) - May 1, 2002 by Leia Brewer

DANG! - WinampBar is a Godsend. I use it with Bluecave slider, and it works wonders if I just want to skip a song. What took so long? -josh - May 1, 2002 by Joshua Krell

the best - this is a must have - April 22, 2002 by Trevor Masse'

GREAT!! - A really useful plugin....dun think i can ever live without it - April 7, 2002 by Daniel Pakiam

nearly Perfect - It's a great plugin but on pc M$ works hangs up while running winamp :-( - April 4, 2002 by Emil Oehlschlger

Damn it's good - It's really the best plugin ever. I use winamp al the time, and every time going to winamp to change a song or something really starts to get anoying. But with this, i'm totally happy :). - March 25, 2002 by Bas van den Wijngaard

Sanity Saver - This plugin sames some of my sanity by letting me control WinAmp from (almost) any program. No more going through 32 windows to find it. - March 22, 2002 by Chris Reed

Great Idea! - Hey to all you people reading this, I think this is one of the essential plug-ins for Winamp. I've always hated having to go to winamp in order th change track when I wanted to, but now I can just click a button on the title bar. What a ingenous idea! - March 14, 2002 by Dan Cooper

Best Plugin Ever - I dont know what i would do without this!! bringin up the winamp n goin back to what i was doin was a pain and so now i can just change the song without leaving a conversation with my girl - March 11, 2002 by Ryan Riley

Fantastic - One of the most usefull plug-ins ever made for WinAmp Mamede Brazil - March 10, 2002 by Jorge Raspeo

only one thing missing - This is a great plugin. I don't use Office and I don't use IE. This works in all my applications. The only thing missing is a volume control with it. Great still, thanks! - March 7, 2002 by Cristina Giammarco

It ROCKS!!!!! - I use this plug-in on my home computer and It ROCKS @$$ I can control the volume, change the track thats playing, I can pause and play it and I can stop it. - March 4, 2002 by Jonathan Joy

THE plug-in! - can't live without it ;) - March 3, 2002 by T Crusader

dame it - this is so good.. - March 3, 2002 by Balazs Jeszencsak

Problems with MSDEV + WinampBar? - Try the new version from the author's homepage. I found with the old version that the symbol tables get corrupted, or something: code from a DLL would hang instead of stopping at my breakpoints. I haven't had problems with the new version (yet). But i may have to stop using it while developing if i can't develop while using it! If these issues are too hard to tackle, perhaps have an option to not place the toolbar on selected files? Also, possible to have a systray option? All thing considered, i love the plugin! - February 20, 2002 by joShua berry

Missing one part... - Sorry, I just fucked upp, It have all I wanted. I hade forgotten to configurate the plug-in. Now you have 5 stars from me too. -/Keep up the good work/- - February 20, 2002 by Joakim Lindblom

Pretty Cool I like it. - I just recently started learning Visual C++ just so I could write a plug-in I gotta tell you I've never seen anything like this. I couln't even imagine how you did it. One day perhaps. It's cool. Maybe a mute button too, and a - in front of the countdown, other than that, it's perfect. I like it alot. One other thing about it I really like is the title. Nice touch REAL NICE TOUCH. Erm Erm - February 18, 2002 by Eugene Miller

niiiice - does eat up quite a bit of resources, but other than that, f*ckin sweet - February 12, 2002 by Mike Bidwell

Best plug in for winamp, period - This plug in is the best plugin for winamp. You can view all of your open application and still control winamp without alt-tabbing through the thousands of already open applications to find winamp. Mega-props... I have WinXP and it works great... I don't know why peeps are complaining about memory usage... uses like 2k... - January 29, 2002 by eric peterson

I Love it but.... - One of my favorite games to play is Solitare and the Winapm Bar really messes it up. Sometimes Solitare won't load right or if you use a menu function loke undo or new gam functions, the game screws up and you have to restart the game to play again. it also locks the game if you run Solitare Maximized causing you to restart the computer just to play again. Maybe thease problems can be fixed later. In the next version, make a way to disable WinAmp Bar without having to remove the .dll file. Otherwise, this plugin kicks ass! - January 27, 2002 by Stephan LeMay

Wonderful but... - it eats resources too much compared to what it does Make a improved version and I am on to it :) - January 27, 2002 by Christopher Rtnes

Right On!! - Man, this rocks!! It's a great plugin, works great in win2k, sadly, it takes up a bit more memory than it SHOULD, but still, the idea is GREAT and you managed it nicely. If you make a next version, fixing the memory issue would be nice, and PLEASE, change the buttons, their design is REALLY bad. Try something else, something that is actually visible!! - January 15, 2002 by peter dias

XP compability??? - I can only say: NARLY. It's the best thing ever happend to mp3 players. I only hope it will become Windows XP compatible. 'Cos when I use it, the mini, maxi and close buttons take the shape of the old window buttons. Respect, Johnie B - December 18, 2001 by Johnie B

By far one of the best plug-ins - Certainly this guys deserves to be on the Winamp all star list of plug-ins. Great to not have to always switch back to Winamp to scroll through the songs. Very helpful and easy to use. - November 28, 2001 by Ian McGreene

Why 3 stars - Doesn't work on WinXP - November 24, 2001 by Joe Rodriguez

Next best thing to multimedia keyboards - this plugin works great, you can customize it it many ways, and it's very clean looking to...loks like part of windows - November 13, 2001 by Brad Wulfsberg

Very useful ! - You can control Winamp wherever you are. And it is really important when you have configured many virtual desktops. But, hem... it doesn't work with leechFTP (a FTP client), and won't charge the first time you open a new window. You must leave the focus, and come back to see the wianmpbar. - November 9, 2001 by Manu Devil

It rocks! - Great idea! - November 4, 2001 by Josh Jonte

Ultimately The Best Way To Use Winamp - This is a great plugin. It dosen't take too much space and it convenient! Really! Something in Winamp is Convenient! This plug shoud be deservant of 5 stars, but it dosen't work in MSN Explorer. The Explorer buttons get in the way. I prefer not to use it while surfing the web with MSN Explorer. - October 17, 2001 by Fareed Ahmed

Wow! By Far The Best Winamp Plugin Available! - If you have to download just one plugin, this is the one to get. It is amazing! Only a 50k download and more functionality than plugins 4 times that size. This is the most practical plugin ever developed for the llama. Great job and thanks for thinking of many options for the look of the bar. Who really needs vis-es anyway? - October 7, 2001 by James Prosser

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrockin! - This rocks. I always have WinAmp minimized in my titlebar set with Always On Top, but this blows it away! Thank you! - September 22, 2001 by Michael Metalios

THIS SUCKS - ha...just kidding, this rocks! It's awesome cause obviously people use their computers for things other than winamp and they can't always have it in the way. Thanks for bringing a program like this to my fingertips. P.S. SWEEEEEET - September 21, 2001 by Ryan Morris

Kicks A$$ - it is the perfect solution for those who want to do other things but not have winamp out. - September 19, 2001 by Daniel Lichterman

f*ckin sweet - i don't know how you do it but i want more!!!! - September 3, 2001 by tobias humble

All Right - But I would go with the browser bar instead. This one makes winamp have a bar on the top making it and your skins look like crap. It works though. - August 16, 2001 by Ian Newman

Just what every lazy git needs! - Take control of Winamp with ease with this great plugin. Download Winampbar today, you won't be dissapointed. - August 16, 2001 by Daniel Pegg

I'm Speechless!! - This is the best thing I will ever download for winamp in my entire life! Ever! Small too! - August 15, 2001 by aaron johnson

EXCELLENT - This is without a doubt the finest, most useful plug-in I've ever found for Winamp, since I started using it way back at version 1.7 or so. Maybe the heads at nullsoft will wise up and start packaging this thing with Winamp itself -- it's worth it. - August 13, 2001 by K Deitle

pure gold - I DON'T HAVE A WORD TO SAY! give it 10 * - August 12, 2001 by cOnfUciY Phylosof

Oh My God!!! - THis Kicks so much Llama ass it's not funny... check it out! - August 9, 2001 by Daniel Barras

Good GOD !!!!!!! - It never stops !!!! One cool thing after another... This plug-in is great.... It has great control and is easy to use... No bugs noticed so far... This one gets my vote... Next thing ya know we will have a plug-in that let's us control winamp with our thoughts... - July 19, 2001 by Dieter Lundquist

resources - This is a good plugin, but is it just me, or did it totally eat up your system resources too? I don't know...made things difficult at times. - July 18, 2001 by S.L.C.B. International

E.X.C.E.L.L.E.N.T - Very nice, one down-thing however: When I open a new app (let's say another browser window), it doesn't appear... Maybe for a future version?? (hope so) excellent plug-in!!!! - July 17, 2001 by ROo COoCOo

JzA GeNiUs - This Is good shit yo..Its madd usefull because of mah lazyass i can to one more thing at once.. good night 1 - July 17, 2001 by Justin Paul

One of the things, that make life easier... - Always though this would be a good idea,.... This are inventions money are made from ! - July 5, 2001 by Chris Gigler

Outstanding...when's the ESP version coming out? - This is a great plugin...thanks for the outstanding creation. Next up...telepathic controls!!! - July 2, 2001 by Jack Townsend

Genius - It's genius.. Only one thing is a bit bad about it.. The "scrolling" of the text is kinda bad.. I wish it only scrolled the same way all the time, or that you could choose to disable scrolling, unless the window is too short. - June 25, 2001 by Hkon Nessjen

Dude. Sweeet. - How easy is that? Bugger microfudge, modify windows how ever you please if you can come up with handy utilities like this one. m0nkey - June 20, 2001 by M0nkey Man

Good, but... - It's good, the source is available (gains a star for that) and it all works great. BUT there are a few solutions I think are better: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=183 is justin's plugin to dock the shade mode of winamp to the titlebar in the same way, and gives MORE control. and there are several title text plugins that do better. - June 13, 2001 by Michael Jervis

awesome... - Nice job... keep going in the direction you are going... you should also try to make it work in the window's taskbar... that would be a good place to put it, as it would always be in the same place... - June 12, 2001 by Jim Spath

I'ts Great - This is brilliant. I can control my Winamp? without having to open the winamp? screen from any program inside windows. Give this man a sigar! - June 10, 2001 by Martin Vandenban

pure genius - this is the best thing I've EVER downloaded for winamp - May 7, 2001 by Doug Hammond

Quite perfect ! - I have nothing to say about this thing... I am puzzled about how Gavin did in order to display this plugin without any display bug... It's very useful, and i can't work without now. Just a little bug when a new window is created and comes to foreground, the control are still on the previous window... sorry for my awful english :-p - April 12, 2001 by jordan Waeles
