Allows for you to use the front buttons on a Toshiba Satellite portable to control Winamp. The .dll installs ok, but I personally didn't have a Toshiba portable to properly test out the functionality. Seems fairly bare bones tho...as the interface is only the image you see above. No configuration or menues. If anyone encounters any bugs, please email the author.

Seems to be allright.. - I have a Toshiba A200.Installed this stuff because I was searching for this kind of functionality, so thank you very much :)As long as winamp runs the buttons work fine for winamp.When winamp is closed my Play button runs Media Player.Anyway. Great Plugin for M55-S3314 - Wow! this is a great little plugin for Toshiba Satellites. I love it. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite M55-S3314 and it works great on it. dosen't work for all toshibas - The file downloaded fine, but didn't work with my Satellite A70 BR-2. I have the media buttons on the side of the keyboard rather than the front. The interface is strange as there are no settings, just the image shown above, when you hit properties from WinAmp. - January 3, 2006 by Fonz Arelli

A good start... - This does do what it claims to on my Satellite M30. However, it also blocks the use of the other Toshiba proprietary buttons, such as the shortcut buttons. If I had source, I would happilly fix this... It'd also be nice if the plugin could be registered with Toshiba Console to start WinAmp, rather than accidentally starting the media player that came with my OS (I'll give you one guess.) It also seems to ignore the mode setting, which is supposed to switch between digital (mp3) and CD audio. - August 31, 2004 by Dave Suffling

This is perfect! - I've been looking for something like this forever! I'm not sure what people mean when they talk about it disabling other buttons; my Fn key works fine while it's running. It did disable the DVD and CD keys, but I don't use those anyway, and wouldn't want to pop up Windows Media Player by pressing them accidentally. It works perfectly on my Satellite 2400-S251. Satellite 5005 - The front buttons work great to control winamp when it is open, but cause the two buttons on top to stop functioning while winamp is open. If you want, I could try to help with it to see if i cant fix that? Anway, great job. Review and Install Instructions - I am very pleased with this plug-in. However, there were no installation instructions, and there apparently isn't a way to start Winamp with one of the buttons. (Toshiba issue, not software) I have created some instructions to fill the void. This plug-in works beatuifully on my 5205-S703. Toshiba 5xxx notebook Media (front and remote) Button Controls for Winamp 2.xx (not Winamp3) http://classic.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml;$sessionid$EFXYO4JSDUZ5VTN241HRCZA?componentId=110332 1. Download and extract the files 2. Open the Toshiba Console, and choose TOSHIBA Button Controls 3. Choose Application mode, and enable it in the check box 4. The first key is "Previous," so browse for the newly extracted files, and choose "Prev.exe" 5. Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 - Wow. It was exactly what I was looking for. It works great and does exactly what's advertised. I just wish that it was able to LAUNCH Winamp, because the buttons still open either Toshiba Media Player or Windows Media Player, which both suck. Excellent - I found that with Winamp 2.8 on Windows XP Home on my Toshiba Satellite 503 this plugin worked exactly as described. The play/pause buttons and the next/prev track buttons all work. The only thing missing is the ability to press "mode" and watch Winamp come up, but that's only a minor annoyance. - January 10, 2003 by Tim Carstens
