A track change notifier plugin. Displays notification popups with album / CD cover art display from either a file such as folder.jpg or from ID3 tags. Support for Now Playing titles in MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

The toasts can be skinned to the classic Winamp or custom skin. They animate using various animations. Format the display to show anything you like using an enhanced Advanced Title Formatting. A must have for the Winamp power user.

Includes Gen_tips for tooltips in the playlist.

Straightforward and nicely designed track-change notification plugin. Displays a pop-up window with the track id3 info... the fading and holding time can be configured. Updated version with better support for internet streams and files without title information.

I have used your plug-in for a few days now and I would have to admit that as a long time user of Winamp this is the most VERSATILE plugin of its kind! Great work! is there a rating more than 5? - a powerfull and lightwieght plugin. actually i have "Toaster", "cd art display" and winamp itself trying to update may msn "now playing". unfortunatelly winamp is unstoppable, and i need "CAD" to update may cover art in msn avatar (but it is so heavy loaded with skins and unneeded features and doesn't work every time) i hoppe one day "Toaster" could update msn avatar too. - September 15, 2008 by diassuncao di

Delightful addition to winamp - As a broadcaster you would find this likeably unpbtrusive, handy and just a nice touch to your station. Finally a Toaster that does what it's supposed to - A really slick plugin that does just what you want it to. Simple an easy to configure and super fast to install. Something's Wrong - I love the plugin, but it doesn't work properly for me. Reading some of the earlier reviews, I seem to be having a similar problem as some other people were. The popup only pops up sometimes. Mainly when the winamp window has focus, which I'm sure you'll agree, defeats the purpose of the plugin. I hope someone can shed some light. Couldn't Live Without It - This is by far the nicest plugin i have ever used. It's customizable in many ways, does what it claims it does (very well i might add) and makes the music selection process much easier when using hidden/docked winamp toolbars/playlists. The Great and The Error - These features should be included in every default winamp download. You are insane not to get this. It is insanely user configurable. It is kinda hard to get it looking as nicely as the pictures to the left, but as long as you stick with it you will eventually get it exactly how you like it. Someone should make a guide or add a lot more settings that users could send in or get from a site. I have one problem that hasn't been fixed for a year. When I have winamp 5 playing a song with this plugin (only does this with plugin) and I shut down my computer winamp stops the computer from getting shut down with some error that it cant stop the process because windows is shutting down but that dialog popping up stops windows from getting shut down unless I click OK. LOAD ARTIST - ALBUM jpg covers with this :o) - Great program i use another to get the covers, winmp cd case and automatically download the covers to the directory where the song is, i configured the program to save the cover's jpegs like the format artist - album. Exelent Plugin BUT........ - I have not had any probs running this plugin, but it does seem to contain a Trojan.. Downloader.lstbar.8.K. This could be y some people have been having probs with CPU usage @ 100%. I use AVG Free edition. - April 24, 2005 by tokes smoker

AVG error - AVG falsely identifies this and all other progams that use the NSIS installer as that trojan. This is a false positive. Upgrade your signatures for AVG and you wont get this error. It is *very* unlikely this would be causing 100% CPU usage especially if winamp has closed, it is only possible for it to run while Winamp is running. Please report bugs and questions to the winamp forums or to my email rather than writing misinformed "reviews". - April 24, 2005 by shane hird

Not working? - Blame MSN Messenger if this is not working for you - it is dependent on the status of the MSN network. Before whining about it not working, test with WMP to confirm that it is a problem with Toaster only, and not MSN Messenger. Possible Problem - The program seems to work fine and do all it says. So, I used it for awhile and everything's fine. I then shut down WinAmp for awhile while I step away from my computer for about half an hour. I then come back to find my computer running extremely slowly and constantly at 100% CPU usage. Reboots did not help and no matter if I shut everything down or not, it would stay at 100% and programs would not open. I ended up reformatting my computer and starting afresh. This was the only thing I had downloaded and installed on my computer on that day. It's hard to blame anything else, and needless to say I don't want to risk that again, so this won't be reinstalled. It works sometimes - For some reason, the plugin works flawlessly at times. Other times, it doesn't work at all. Even after restarting the programs and my computer. It has a mind of its own. One thing that just came to mind, the little song display window on the desktop (shown in the pictures) also show a countdown for the time elapsed (or time remaining) for the current song that is playing. Having issues? - For people having issues.. make sure your input plugins aren't foobared. Read the documentation. For people not wanting the notification component, take a look at http://www.myplugins.info for a plugin which doesn't have this. @sam stewart.. seems as thoough you have another plugin updating the titles... dont blame Toaster. Take a look for another MSN Messenger plugin installed and delete it or choose between the two. Good-ish - I did not like the fact that i actually had to upgrade to winamp 5.0 since it really hogs alot of memory, unlike 2.95 which i used before that, which did all i wanted it, too. apparently there used to be 2.95 support before, but now it's gone. Also I'd love to see support for .cue-files since alot of my mp3s use that function (Similiar to mp3cue [plug-in]). So everytime a new song is started in the .cue it will show a toast. Another function that I would like to see is that it changes your MSN display picture to the album cover that you currently have. It would be great if there was an option not to show a toast (or replacement picture) at all if no cover was found. Other than those few issues it does what it's supposed to. Verry good :) - Really nice plugin ;) I only have my music in 1 sub folder (Like My music/Artist/Song.mp3) So I made up a folder.jpg with writing of each artist, and made the file hiden.. I love Toaster - In my opinion, Winamp 5 is nearly perfect. But a Plug-In such as Toaster was missing. I work virtually the whole day at my computer and I hear my favourite music with Winamp. Absolutely Class - In the eternal "iTunes vs. WinAMP" battle, unintuitive song rating was a thorn in the side of WinAMP. This fixes it. Rating songs becomes a doddle, and of course you get notification in every skin for good measure. On the edge of perfection - Just an almost perfect plugin, absolutely perfect for me, I LOVE IT! Shanne you're the best! Tips - This is my plugin (and hey I give it 5 stars 'cause I use it). Read the readme-toaster.txt for tips on how to use it and my email address. To go to the previous track, hold shift when clicking. Press the middle mouse button to open the winamp window.
