Stereo Tool can repair recordings and make them sound equal and consistent in volume and sound color, bring out the details, and increase existing stereo effects. Special support is provided for (FM) radio stations: Extra loudness, FM pre-emphasis, software stereo and RDS encoding, BS412 limiting. Stereo Tool contains a unique declipper, a noise filter, dualband pre-limiter, compressor with configurable number of bands, equalizer, distortion removing clipper, AZIMUTH corrector, stereo enhancer, bass booster, lowpass filter.

Staff review

If you want to tweak aspects of your sound output then this is definitely one to look at. Although it may seem a bit overwhelming with all of the config sliders, if you know what you're doing or have looked through the online help then this should be a piece of cake to use. The output quality with it enabled and tweaked was good and the control available was impressive.

Amazing! Great sound quality and compression. I have been looking for a plug in that keeps my music at a constant level without being obvious, this does it and a whole lot more. It can be overwhelming when you first look at it, but read over the help manual and you will get the results you want quickly. Also has great presets for the beginner. Brilliant - This is not as complicated as it looks and all the setings can be done using the presets,which work really well,I'm using an amp and stereo speakers in my den,which gives me great sound with 100watt power.I use the "very soft" compression preset most of the time but some of the other presets work great.I dont know why this plugin is not used by everyone??? - October 22, 2008 by Norman Dittberner

Very Effective - This is a useful tool if you like to tweak up aspects of your audio playback. There is noticable lag in responce, which is basically due to the plugin trying to catchup with the playback and buffer up the data. Recommend this if you want to tweak your audio further than whats given with Winamp's onboard EQ. Used with Klipsch 2.1 system. - July 19, 2008 by Michael Greigh

Sounds good right off the bat! - My opinion is merely based on some two hours use of Stereo Tool, fiddling with and tweaking it. I am pretty sure I will never take full advantage of all the possibilities seemingly inherent in this plugin. Too lazy, plus, with a few minor adjustments, it sounds great from the word go! But, it interferes with playback in a not so pleasant way. Especially when jumping between songs. It's something you have to hear, I couldn't describe it very well. Great Tool! - This audio tool is great, even if you don't like using compression, it still has other settings that may come in handy. One major downside, Stereo Tool still doesn't support multichannel processing.
