SPS Bass Growl - Add deep bass harmonic

Staff review

A preset for Nullsoft Signal Proscessing Studio

Bass harmonic preset... oddly enough, songs sorta sounded more bassy with this preset disabled.

Oomph!!!!!!! - To a reggae slut such as myself the transformation was awesome. Though a bit too bassy causing the speakers in my headphones to crackle, when combined with 3D surround plug in, the feeling was soporific!!!! - February 16, 2009 by Gordon Brown

Yes! - Just downloaded and installed this plug-in.. Excellent!!! Yeah, ya gotta have good subwoofer(s) .. Excellent! I passed on Pioneer's 'Subharmonic Synthesizer' back around '80 after getting their other stereo signal processors because bass was not a big deal. Big mistake! GOOD JOB! Excellent! ***** plus a few more! - August 11, 2007 by Larry Breazeale

Works, must be adjusted - On my slow system (PIII 700) this worked well after I adjusted it. No crashes. I REALLY wish SPS had more sliders built in. - January 27, 2007 by lex ein

use at your own risk - After I loaded it up, I played a song to test it out and Winamp froze on me. I re-opened Winamp and tested out another song and the same thing happend. So I removed it from my computer so that things would go back to normal. The problem is, now my Winamp is broken and will not play songs anymore. I re-installed Winamp to the latest version and the problem persists. I have used other SPS files with no problems. I'm sure results vary by user and you may have some luck with it. I have a 2.0ghz computer with 256MB ram. - April 17, 2005 by PJ Brooks

It does work - Tried it with different amps/speakers etc. If you've got a weak amp with small speakers dont bother. If you've got a decent amp with really good speakers this is awesome. Nice one :) - April 9, 2005 by Andi P

Only works if you have good speakers allready - I tryed this plug-in with some avrage speakers.. and it sucked just like you all said.... But I borrowed some nice headphones that can reproduce low sounds and this is the best thing I've ever downloaded for winamp. Keep up the good work. - December 2, 2004 by David Tusan

Here is what the plugin REALLY does - OK, some people said it sounds like there is MORE bass if the plugin is DISABLED. The reason this is true is because they don't have a system that will go down that low. See, instead of ADDING the lower-octave bass, all the plugin does is filter out the bass from below 30 hz, lower it one octave, and put it back in. Instead of ADDING one lower octave bass, you are REPLACING the currant bass with deeper bass. If you wan't to truly hear this accurately, you need to get yourself a pair of GOOD headphones, like the Grado SR325, or Grado RS1s www.gradolabs.com Hope this helps witht the mixup! - November 29, 2004 by Daniel Boyd

sorry - i think that was a original ideea, but it don't sounds good... - November 22, 2004 by Danilics Tibor

No actually you'll say: OMFG HOW COULD I HAVE GONE ALL THESE YEARS AND DOWNLOADED ALL THESE SHI**Y FU**IN STUPID PLUGINS TRYING IN VAIN FOR GOOD SOUND WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT A GOOD SOUND CARD AND SPEAKERS!!!! AHHHHHH....MY LIFE FULLFILLED NOW, I ONLY WISH I COULD TELL ALL THE OTHERS THAT SEARCH FOR PLUGINS TO JUST STOP THE MADNESS AND GET A SOUNDBLASTER!!!!!! Actually you'll SCREAM exactly that when you stop FU**IN AROUND and get a good sound card! - November 10, 2004 by Marc Napier

Yuck - This plug-in just made my music sound murcky and choppy, no matter what I did, no matter what I adjusted. - October 31, 2004 by Aka Horacevandergelder

Settings updated - (From the author) Original settings of SPS sliders incorrect. Re-download to get more noticable deep bass effect. Adjust level slider if clipping occurs. This plugin is mostly useful for headphones and speakers that can generate frequencies below 60 Hz. - August 26, 2004 by R Grace
