PaceMaker - Tempo/Pitch/Karaoke Plugin.

Staff review

Control pitch and tempo independently

This is a very functional and useful tempo/pitch DSP plugin. You can alter the tempo and pitch independent of one another...so, you can have the song's BPM be one thing, and you can have the song's pitch be something completely different. The 'speed' lever also gives some interesting
results. There is a preferences menu where you can set slider precision as well as hotkey increments. The interface is very straightforward and
useful, not very impressive visually...but, it gets the job done

Awesome, simple plug-in would have given it 5 stars, but it keeps crashing my winamp whenever I disable it. - March 24, 2011 by Alex

good - I'll try first - April 18, 2009 by Bobby Greentea

crash! - Don't use this one!Since one year I was using this plugin. When I quit winamp, it crashes. It wasn't a problem for me. Until today where I saw a nagscreen about register stuff. And then just at this moment, it crashes when I want use it. So as it was going to nerve me, I tried to uninstall it, without success, which forces me to uninstall it manually. So don't install it! - February 26, 2009 by ZoliveR ZoliveR

bombs Winamp - Speed works ok. Changing tempo, with or without music playing, bombs Winamp. Latest Winamp 5.54. Picture is not the same as actual plugin. - January 8, 2009 by Bernard Dickman

Thumbs up! - This plugin works great for me; everything works as it should, apart from one thing. When I'm playing FLAC files, I have to check the "Disable sound tweaking" checkbox on the plugin in order for them to play properly. If I don't do this, then Winamp plays them too fast internally, even though the track being played can be heard at the correct speed. Other than that, it's a nifty little thing! - November 14, 2008 by Sean Harvey

Great for playing along with guitar! - I have been using this plugin for about a year and now i couldn't live without it. I play guitar and love playing along to the MP3s on my computer. This does however become quite frustrating when different tracks are in slightly different tunings - some are dropped one or two steps and some are just out of tune. Pacemaker saves me from having to constantly re-tune my guitar, and with its 'memorize above settings for each song' function i can play all these songs back to back with no fuss. It is also great for slowing a track down so that you can hear and then practice that really fast guitar solo! - July 21, 2008 by Glenn Halls

excellent - works great with mp3s. used to crash alot when i tried previous versions, but very happy with mp3 performance. well done. - June 13, 2008 by hot soup

Excellent - Exectly what it says, and in high quality - April 18, 2008 by Abir Stolov

Nice, but... - Hey.It's a nice tool, but I eventually uninstalled it, because it is "nagware". - March 27, 2008 by C Hampton

Thought it would be better than 1.32 - I was kinda sad to discover that this doesnt seem to be any better than v1.32 and with that version you didnt have to pay to get the slider settings. And now this version doesnt adopt the skin choosen. It has its own skin now. Plus it doesnt dock to Winamp. - January 1, 2008 by No Hart

Surprising audio quality from this plugi - This is version 1.3.2. Download 2.1 from http://www.surina.net/pacemaker/ if you want the remove vocals functionality (which doesn't really work but did you really think it would?)I think the newer version requires registration to enable the hotkeys & customization of the sliders potential while 1.32 does not. Would be nice if Pacemaker's window could be pinned on top of WinAmp 5.5.Double clicking sliders should reset them so it's easy & fast to get them exactly back to 0. - December 23, 2007 by Sky Walker

I thank that very good for me - Thx - December 2, 2007 by vattikorn somtrakul

Great! - Great Plugin! Only way it could get better is if it could adjust to your skin. - November 22, 2007 by Matthew W

Awesome! - This plugin really is awesome, but one question:In your picture there is a "Remove Vocals" button but I don't have that when I download it. - October 21, 2007 by Andrew NA

Good sounding but crashes - This is a good sounding tempo and pitch changing program. It has some neat features such as remembering settings for particular tracks. Unfortunately it crashes when switching tracks and the tempo is set to high slowdown values. It sounds better with MP3 and wave than with MP4 files. It goes to maximum tempo for FLAC files, so it is useless for them. - September 29, 2007 by John Clement

Works, but can't close window - This plugin works, although the tempo control gets pretty choppy when you deviate too far from the middle. There is one obnoxious aspect of it. I prefer to run Winamp in the 'windowshade' mode and have it always-on-top, so that it fits snugly into the title bar of whatever browser or window I'm working in. Once this plugin is selected in the preferences, it is open until you select (none) as the DSP/Effect plug-in (there is no x in the corner to close it). Since Winamp is always on top, it is always on top as well. Essentially, this means that you cannot run it and not see it at the same time. - August 15, 2007 by Ronnie Five

NOT infected - The user comment below regarding virus alert given by Avast anti-virus tool is a false alarm: The plug-in file was cross-checked by tens of other virus scanner tools at VirusTotal.com and was found to contain no viruses. The issue has been reported to Avast support. - July 17, 2007 by Olli Parviainen

INFECTED!!! - My Antivirus program set off its alarms when I tried to download this also.Virus Details:Win32:Delf-EFP[Wrm]has been found! - June 23, 2007 by Betty Marin

Virus Detected! - My Avast Antivirus program set off its alarms when I tried to download this.Virus Details:Win32:Delf-EFP [Wrm] - May 22, 2007 by Oliver Forral

Very useful - This is excellent software which should be a standard package in WinAmp - March 9, 2007 by A GH

Love it! - Works great. Thanks man! - February 21, 2007 by Chris Lamb

Trouble in paradise - I like this program controller but I have been having trouble registering it. I paid the fee and never got sent anything back regarding this product. It\'s been about two weeks since I purchased this item and for that i\'m very upset. Other than that I can\'t even continue using this product. - October 7, 2006 by Rosa Lopez

Excellent - I have just been using this to listen to lectures at 1.5x speed and it sure beats $30 for enounce! - September 29, 2006 by D C

It's a crock. - This thing is lame. First off there are other plugins that do the job better. When you change the tempo, speed or anything, the audio quality goes down. All the other ones do that.. well... this one does it too. But that's not the main problem I have with this plugin. The main problem is that whenever it is installed and you select the "Add" button to add an mp3 to winamp at any time, THE WHOLE THING CRASHES. Yes. this thing crashes WInamp whenever a song is added, forcing you to shut off winamp and load it again everytime you want to listen to a song, and then load the plugin again. That's just lame and totally not worth the time it takes to download this. So, not only is it not any more effective than any other pitch/speed/tempo changing plugin, but none of them are buggy and crashes winamp like this one does. Not even worth the download. This thing is a crock of you-know-what. This gets 1 star becuase i'm in a forgiving mood. - August 17, 2006 by Karma Satori

I like it - The only problem I'm having wth pacemaker is that I'm unable to register it. The web site for doing this seems to not exist or something. - June 14, 2006 by Jimmy Ellis

I love this plug-in - This plug-in is so great, a guitarist dream. This plug-in is perfect if you want to learn difficult solos! - June 12, 2006 by henrik lundberg

tool for popmusicians - Pitch even an octave lower/higher. Addy Biru recomments the most recent version. The most recent version pithes in steps only. This version pitches in 1/10th of steps. The most recent version has got a remove-vocals-button though that works very well. - October 20, 2005 by arnoud kamp

Simple and useful - Very simple and very useful. No crashes. Recommended - October 1, 2005 by Bjorn Moxica

This is the 2nd best plugin I've ever seen! - I've downloaded PaceMaker v2.1 and let me tell you that this is AWESOME!!! This thing does everything perfectly as the author says, and combined with an MP3 encoder as an Output plugin, you can give permanent saavy effects to your tunes. The voice filter is not working great, but actually nothing does yet! :) If you're a DJ or a simple wannabe, this tool is for you! - August 7, 2005 by Smash Maniac

Best Plugin - The best plugin ever!!! it is a must-have. works really good!! - June 15, 2005 by Jorick Mul

recording bummer - It's a TOTAL BUMMER, that recording the "changed" audio properties, to a new mp3 file is not available. Please consider this for the next version. Thank-You. - June 11, 2005 by Rod Bleskow

Wonderful! But NOT the current version. - First, get the far more recent version at the author's website: http://sky.prohosting.com/oparviai/pacemaker/ I'm a guitar teacher, I prepare the young artists whose music you'll groove with someday. This plugin is part of the software I require students to install and download. I use it on my laptop in the teaching room all day every day, it has been stable and trouble-free. I also recommend Loop Master, LYRC and Lyric3, and PowerTab from http://www.power-tab.net to complete my Required Software package. My compliments to the author. - May 22, 2005 by addy biru

A great piece of invention - I have used this plugin now for the last 12 months as i am a dance teacher i found that i cant do without it now. The fact that i can alter the speed as it plays is a great help for me. Get this now if you need to alter speed or pitch for your work or just to have fun. - May 1, 2005 by John Stack

Amazing! - I will have great fun wth this. I love the independence of the tempo and pitch. Keep up the good work. - April 19, 2005 by Anna Fry

A must for any practicing musician !!! - The only plug-in can't live without. A heaven for practicing songs. Best in it's category. - April 14, 2005 by savas oguz

The best tempo/pitch app I have evaluated. - All of the other tempo/pitch plugins I have evaluated sound like flangers. PaceMaker sounds great. The only down-side is that it is not free. This one is worth the money. - March 22, 2005 by John DJ

Been using V1.1 for years - A musician NEVER wants to retune his instrument song after song when playing along with a recording (i.e. learning the music). This plug-in allows YOU to manually adjust the pitch of the mp3 file in a small fraction of the time you'd need to re-tune a guitar. The only thing missing is AUTOMATION. It should pre-view the next song in your playlist so it knows how much the next songs must be adjusted so it's in tune with the previous one (and your guitar). It's a REAL DRAG, to come back to the computer (from the fire-pit) when the next song is out of tune with your guitar ... Still, it's a GREAT program for every musician who plays with - January 7, 2005 by Bob Zawalski

wow - Oh....wow.....it.....sucks...wow! Get a Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs like me and THEN you'll say WOW!!!!! No actually you'll say: OMFG HOW COULD I HAVE GONE ALL THESE YEARS AND DOWNLOADED ALL THESE SHI**Y FU**IN STUPID PLUGINS TRYING IN VAIN FOR GOOD SOUND WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST BOUGHT A GOOD SOUND CARD AND SPEAKERS!!!! AHHHHHH....MY LIFE FULLFILLED NOW, I ONLY WISH I COULD TELL ALL THE OTHERS THAT SEARCH FOR PLUGINS TO JUST STOP THE MADNESS AND GET A SOUNDBLASTER!!!!!! Actually you'll SCREAM exactly that when you stop FU**IN AROUND and get a good sound card! - November 10, 2004 by Marc Napier

This is the one I was looking for - Hi "Anyone", If you are reading my review. My feedback is 1000 out of 100 to this plug-in. I am a singer and every song that I listen or want to practice is mostly sung in a higher scale(pitch) than what I have naturally. This plug-in has given me the freeness to drop the pitch to my scale and practice the songs along with any singer. The tempo functionality will always help a musician to properly listen to the notes played. And hence no confusion on notes. I personally thanks the makers of PaceMaker. I should say its name should be Place Maker .... it will definitely help any singers to break their barriers and go wherever they want. Thanks, Vivek Pohre - November 6, 2004 by Vivek Pohre

IMPRECINDIBLE!!!! - Como bajista es una herramienta indispensable. Solo tienes que subir el pitch hasta el final y puedes escuchar mucho mas claro la linea de bajo de cada cancion. Traten de integrarlo m?s a la interface de Winamp; que no sea una ventana suelta. Felicitaciones!. - October 22, 2004 by Pato cuacua

Deano - It does everything I want it to do.You lower the key too much it get worbally, they all do ,but it the best out there yet! - October 15, 2004 by Dean henry

Great tool! - I've had no problems with this tool. As a guitarist/singer, this plug-in provides the means to analyze , remove vocals, and personalize the music. The interface seemed straightforward and functional to me. Very handy to have around!-Rich - October 7, 2004 by Richard Bermudez

Olli you are great! - One of the best plug-in in this category, it works awesome with Winamp 5.0.5, also with videoclips! Very good! - September 4, 2004 by Paolo Liberati

Bad and unstable - It doesn't sound really good, but when stopping playback or restarting it, winamp 2.9 quits with an error message. Unusable. - August 28, 2004 by Florian Schaefer

Wow - Excellent! This is exactly what I was looking for. I use it to adjust the songs pitch so I can play guitar to the music without having to re-tune it after every song. Thumbs up! - February 11, 2004 by Wang Goo

Never been better - this is the best plug in ever! Try changing tempo without screwin' up the pitch. It IS WORTH IT - December 1, 2003 by Alex Livington

Exactly what I've needed for a long while... - Was looking for a pitch changer so as to 'rip n write' sheet music for guitar and piano - got more than I was looking for... No annoying distortion or lag. Can't thank you enough Olli! - November 12, 2003 by w studley

AWESOME, but........ - I never laughed so much with my favourite songs, it's really great... But... I like hearing all that stuff as it was meant to be heard... At normal speed and pitch! So, even though I find it funny, I don't expect to use it all the time, so put a *CLOSE* button (and a better and resizable Winshade) on the damn thing... And make it skinnable, please?? - September 30, 2003 by - johnny -

oh yea - Thank you, Olli, for this great plug-in - September 29, 2003 by Rafael Blanes

best pitch plugin out there - with the quality slider turned up to full, audio quality is nearly perfect. i really like the addition of scaling by steps instead of octave fractions. excellent work. - September 9, 2003 by Jack ...

professional tempo control - This is the one! This extraordinary plugin can easily compete with products made for musicians. Very accurate algorithm for tempo control. The other winamp plugin 'Chronotron II' does not have this accuracy - by far! 6 stars. - June 14, 2003 by domian eleven

Does what it says, and that's rare... - Don't know how he did it, but this is one the best plugins I've ever seen. Does what it says and no bullshit like all the other pitchers. Perfect - June 10, 2003 by Ken B

I'm using Chronotron II instead - I was looking for a tool to allow change in tempo w/o changing the pitch and found PaceMaker. I really like the layout and the way you can change pitch and tempo independently or together. It was very stable, meaning it never crashed Winamp. However it was "jumpy" meaning, every time that I put a small load on my computer (copying a file, opening a window, etc) there was a brief but audible change in tempo. Now I'm jusing Chronotron II (dsp_chrono) which doesn't have that problem. It'll only allow you to change tempo though, not pitch. - May 22, 2003 by Bernhard Kohlhaas

* Wish I could Be Hear * - Hey Olli: Crashes my WinAMP, consecutively, no other plugins active. Win98 system. I'll keep the install when my new computer arrives so I can try it on that, but for my little closet computer it's the first DSP/Effect I've found that crashes WinAMP. It does so when I click play. A shame, it looks like fun. :) Sincerely, =David W= http://members.dfwonline.net/dw817 (New Home Of Scenario RPGMaker) - May 9, 2003 by David Wicker

Not exaggerating - I know on these user opinions exaggerate like "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!" Well I am not exaggerating. This is the best Winamp plugin I've EVER seen. You can make people sound different from what they really sound like. It will make you laugh when you make someone sound dumb. - May 7, 2003 by David Shakaryan

Best I've found in 2 OSes - Linux and Windows - nothing matches Ollis tempo stretcher. NOTHING! Artifacts? None! If you have artifacts, try this plugin after you *disable* the other plugins! D'oh! 10 Seconds?!? Takes about 3/4 seconds to react on my i810 Emachines (celeron 633MHz) system so puh-leeze - learn how to operate your pukey 2 GHz box - Gotta run lean, fool, don't load every plugin known to man and also run viz @ full screen then blame this tiny plugin - you look real lame! Lacks Design? Does that mean it does not work? Hehe... it works folks, some of the other puppies think the world is theirs to define..... - March 14, 2003 by Lee Dunbar

awful sound quality - It works, but the sound quality is so horrible ... it's supposed to filter the artefacts, but obviously doesn't do it, even when I turn the filtering on and adjust the filter setting. - February 6, 2003 by Space Dreamer

I love it - Everything about this plugin i have loved. It is easy to use, nothing over-kill, works well, and I it hasn't crashed any of the 5 computers I've tested it on. It doesnt decrease my winamp load time and it lets me do thinks with tempo I couldn't do anything else. I would definitely give this a higher rating if I could. - January 20, 2003 by M.A.S Studios

Not too bad - its really good but it takes about 10 seconds on a 2ghz system to react but that cant be helped - good though - January 12, 2003 by Derek Hyams

a b s oTEMPO l u t e l y MARVELOUS !!! - I play the drumset for quite a while now and I often tried to play along with famous songs. For sure this works fine with the normal tempo, but this tool makes it much more fun and its a lot easier to learn hard and complicated songs by letting them play slower - or I can playback songs faster to get more speed-skill on the set (and all this without any annoying "speed-up-hamster-voices" *g* !!!!) absoTEMPOlutely great!! - good work Olli! go on like this mate! =) greets from Germany! Prost, Prost Kamerad ! kick_the_beat *Rothaus-Tannezapfle is the best!* Rothaus.de - January 7, 2003 by Manuel H

All I needed - I was looking for a plugin that would change the tempo of mp3s to dance to. And I found it. I mainly use the Tempo control, but I guess Pitch and Speed could also be useful for someone. Works nice, lacks design. - November 21, 2002 by Rok Zibrat

Very useful - This is a necessity, not a luxury! Really handy for young musicians. Slow the tempo to figure out those fast licks, change the pitch to suit your vocal chords. Is there a version of this for winamp 3? - November 19, 2002 by Ananth Narayanan

The only plug in I ever get! - This is the only plug in I ever download. It has the simplest interface and does all I need. Do not pass this one up if you want easy to use tempo pitch and speed control. Can even be used in conjuction with "waveout" output on winamp to create custom wav files that will play normally with the settings you record them under. Perfect to create music cds titles "the chipmunks sing....." - August 20, 2002 by Nich Jones

Hmm - It's the best tempo/pitch/speed changer I've tried, but the fucker always crashes after a few songs/plays/seeks and drags down Winamp with it, having to restart it (losing your current playlist if not saved, plugin setups, etc.)... there needs to be an UPDATE with these BUGS FIXED... otherwise it's a great plugin. - July 29, 2002 by Lich the Great

Pacemanker got worse - It used to work well, with winamp 2.8 the bass stutters, songs sound bad. I got rid of it. I liked the way it worked before 2.80. Now its better than nothing, but there are other pitch and tempo controlers that work without distorting the bass. - July 4, 2002 by Dave H

Great - This is an especially great tool for karaoke singers to use. If you need to change the key of a song to suit your vocal range, you can do so easily. Also a fun tool if you want to change the tempo, key, or pitch of any song. - July 1, 2002 by Lynda Van Etten

The MAMMA JAMMA!!! - I am a guitarist. This plugin lets me change the pitch or tempo of a song without changing both. So if my guitar is slightly out of tune with the song, I don't need to tune my guitar, I tune the song!!!And it doesnt change the tempo when you do this. You can also change the tempo without changing the pitch. Olli can have my baby. - June 5, 2002 by dave hall

The only DSP I ever use... - Wow, is this thing useful. ...well, not really, but it makes my music sound quite nifty. There's nothing more fun than making Linkin Park sound like a bunch of hamsters. - June 3, 2002 by Nutty Schmo

My name is Mike Roch (Say It) - I like it. My friend got it. My friend, ill call em "Ben Dover" told me. I have trouble getting it to work but what the heck. Im going to my friends house. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ahhhhhhhhh its a cow MOOOOOOOOOO Help mOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - May 21, 2002 by Mike Roch

*Bowing before your greatness* - This has got to be the best plugin I've downloaded, and I've downloaded loads! Brilliant!!! - April 25, 2002 by Blueberry Muffins

Now we could all use of these - I'm a winamp-plugin freak, and I'm always looking for new and interesting things to download. This, certainly, is one of the coolest. If you're looking for fancy graphics and hefty buttons.. this is not it! However, you'll find three of the coolest sliding bars in history. The coolest, by far, is tempo which doesn't alter the pitch of key of the song.. just the speed. It's great for turning a dull and slow song into an upbeat danceable classic. You should try it sometime! The only thing it needs to do is let you record your manipulated changes. And watch out.. if you switch it too many at once, winamp tends to freeze (so don't abuse it). otherwise, it's simple, free, and provides hours of fun. What more could you ask for? - April 18, 2002 by Rachel Smith

DOWNLOAD NOW!!!!! - This is by far the best DSP you can get. I agree it might not LOOK very flasy but you can do so much with it and it takes only seconds to download so why dont you give it a try?? - April 10, 2002 by carrie hall

hehe - this thing is so funny, you have to try it out if you havent already - April 9, 2002 by R I

Hey Useless Users!! - ??! This Plug-In is the best Pitch/Tempo Changer, it can froze your computer if you have low memory and CPU resources, but I have a PIII... Other thing, YOU DON'T NEED UNINSTALL WINAMP TO UNINSTALL THE PLUG-IN "NO SEAS TONTO"... - April 4, 2002 by Jafo C-Null

Hah... - Heh... fun thing. Lots of cool stuff you can do with it, like make people sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks, stuff like that. Good stuff... give it a whirl. Haven't had any problems with it. - March 8, 2002 by Johann Kwan

Wow. - That's all I have to say. You can change the tempo with out it going all chipmonkey! Kick ass. - March 8, 2002 by Dan Gallagher

Beta less buggy than release - If you are having crashes, stalls, etc., get the beta, works a lot better on my computer at least. Great plugin, all users should download this! - February 17, 2002 by Jimmy Pardey

Sucks!!! - What's the use of this program?! Sure, I got it to work once or twice, but after that, it froze my computer!! I had to uninstall Winamp just to get rid of that annoying fact; it made me very frustrated!!! - February 15, 2002 by Jason Thomas

Redrik - Yes! I really like this plug-in. Makes it more fun if you just don want to listen to the songs normally! =) - February 3, 2002 by Fredrik Redestad

grumble! - doesnt work properly, beat is faster than tempo, crashes my winamp evrytime i use it! - February 2, 2002 by The Skin Hacker

Hmmmm - It looks good, BUT i don't know how to use it - February 2, 2002 by Min Kyu Kwak

Garden Grove - I love this plugin, it funny to hear the chipmunks play sublime Garden Grove - January 28, 2002 by Kaos Scorpio

Super B! - Pacemaker, paired with Slow Me Up, is the perfect tool for learning note-perfect guitar riffs and solos. Always works for me. - January 22, 2002 by jim jordan

One Problem - This Plugin is great! I think it is revolutionary and is acctually something i really wanted to do with mp3s. What is the best about it is that it dosn't make it sound crappy. The only problem is that when you listen to insanely fast songs even faster it seems slow when you put it back to normal speed. - January 20, 2002 by Kasey Reub

Nice but: - It still contains a lot of bugs - Freezing up Winamp when skipping numbers (this is not a Win2k prob, every other OS has this prob.) - Using to much damned RAM. I got an AMD 900 with 768 RAM and it still uses 80 % of it !!!!!!! Fix This. - December 30, 2001 by dAy WAlKEr

Am I Dreaming? - I never ever seen sure a wonderful tool for Winamp, hope you can continue this work and its really wonderful. A din find any eroors in this wonderful faultless tool. - December 29, 2001 by Slivester Chua

wow! - It's so cool! Anssi Kela (a Finnish musician) sounds like a smurf when I use this plug-in :] - December 20, 2001 by Onni Rntil

To the big whiner..... - Whoever said that he got screwed over by this plug-in, let it be known that it all depends on system. Sure, when I first got this, I got a lot of funky errors, but after a little bit of "tweaking" to my system/options, it's working perfectly now. Just thought I'd like to let people know that so they don't get discoruraged by your post. - December 20, 2001 by Brent Haskins

Pretty cool - it's the coolest i've seen - December 19, 2001 by Tessa de Jong

anti climax. - sorry, i was expecting somthing much better here, somthing i could use to plug my laptop into my 3rd mixer input and have some fun. but no, this isnt even close yet. unstable, measures on the bars are way too sensitive. but tidy up on a couple of things and it will ready for a 5 star and a 3 way laptop mp3 tagteam - December 19, 2001 by matt dawson

Good, but unstable. - This is a great plugin, mucho fun, but it's unstable. About 10-20% of the time when I try to switch songs, it freezes my whole Winamp. Hopefully the next version will be more stable. Otherwise, great plugin! - December 17, 2001 by Larry Fish

carlos - its awsome! - December 14, 2001 by carlos gonzalez

Sweet one.... - I think this has to be the neatest plugin I've ever downloaded. And I am very harsh on ratings. A five star plugin would give you the choice to edit the colors and save presets and so on... - December 14, 2001 by Almighty Dcooldude_1

WOULD be very cool... - Would be very cool, but that bug, if you press "j" to jump to a song realy f*cks up... - December 13, 2001 by Constantin Groďż˝

This proves my theory!!!!!! - This is a great tool to use for fun but .... more importantly, it proves my theory that the Chipmunks record every song in the world, but then these manipulative record companies steal their songs and slow down the pitch to best fit the recording artist we see on T.V.!!!!!!!!!!!!! You gotta believe me!!!!!!!!!!! It's true!!!!!!!! - December 12, 2001 by Erick Nipple

This thing is great! - not only is this quite a funny little plugin to play around with, it's really usefull for working out the drum and guitar parts of songs to write tabs, because doesn't have to change the pitch. It's great! - December 9, 2001 by Michael Marner

the best thing i have ever downloaded 4 winamp - much much fun 2 be had with this little plug-in - December 8, 2001 by dobo sed

Wicked - This is the 2nd best plug-in i have downloaded!! - December 6, 2001 by Chris Morton

standard - Tis options should be included in the next version of winamp, its fun to play with ... - November 17, 2001 by Bas M

WoW! - Best Damn Pitch Changing plugin and its sooo small in size.. Marks my words..This is definately worth all 5 star (* * * * *) !! yeah something that should be included a standard winamp distribution.. Keep it up! - November 15, 2001 by Sanchit Bhatnagar

AWESOME - its awesome to hear the songs fast and in different pitches. IT IS AWESOME - November 12, 2001 by Paul Rubritz

Screwed me over - This plugin really screwed my computer over. Everytime i would open it, it would select all of my songs and give me an error. I turned off the plugin...didnt change. I restarted my computer...didnt change. I even deleted its files!!!...didnt change. It rendered Winamp, the greatest mp3 player EVER...entirely worthless. STAY AWAY! HISS! - November 9, 2001 by Jim Okshaw

Pacemaker - I Think this is a great plug-in but for only advanced users. (Because of the bugs) - November 8, 2001 by Arso nix

yo - not bad - November 1, 2001 by adis muminovic

To many problems - When I finally find what I'm looking for it has serious problems. The sound quality is bad when I use the pitchcontrol and winamp crashes easily. It's a pity because I really want a pitchcontrol that is working. - October 31, 2001 by Tomas Hedberg

OK, very good! - It is the best tempo/pitch/speed plug-in!!! Download it! NO SOUND DISTORTION. - October 30, 2001 by Giacomo D.

Fun but bug - http://www.hut.fi/~oparviai/pacemaker/pacemaker.exe here is version 1.2 bugless for me.. - October 27, 2001 by alex s

great but has serious probs. - I have used Pacemaker before and it is great. BUT It is flawed. PROBLEMS #1 doesn't work for Windows NT. which I have. #2 crashes when hitting stop. #3 uses up way too much RAM therefore crashing it. Fix this and I'll love it. - October 25, 2001 by Steve S.

Great - Thing works perfectly fine on my computer. It does what it says. No frills, no gimmicks. Try it and be amazed. - October 24, 2001 by stuart mccracken

One Major Bug - It works perfectly!... except for this one annoying bug that causes Winamp and the plug-in to crash when pressing Stop (and sometimes Next/Prev). Fix this, and it'll be the best plug-in of it's kind. - October 19, 2001 by Sankata Makotono

really keel - really cool all djs will luv it! - October 18, 2001 by Russell Lennon

Great Plugin - I love playing with it. Two suggestions: - fix bugs (like others said) - make it so it could be minimized/hidden without minimizing winamp - October 15, 2001 by Mr. Vonner

Don't need bass control! - If you're using it to DJ, just plug it into your mixer, and use its controls for the EQ and stuff. Don't make the computer do everything. - October 15, 2001 by Marco Heide

saving - is there anyway that you could save the pitch of the song after you change it to your computer so it doesnt sound slow anymore? cause i want the pitch to stay with the song so when i put it on a CD, it will stay fast. - October 15, 2001 by ashley haynia

Excelent - A well done plugin. - October 8, 2001 by Andre Reid

excellent, yo - This is great! I to slow down music so i can learn it on my guitar and drums, and this is the first progam I've used that actually does it well! I'll be using this for a while! - October 7, 2001 by pedro whammybarra

Pace Maker - It's great but it distorts the music a bit just having it on without using the controls. It "clings" the bass too much when I use the pitch control. It never crashed my computer anyway. - September 19, 2001 by bassthebomb1 bomb

COOL STUFF! - ITS SO COOL! you can actually "tease" singers with it by making them sing faster! Im laughing my brains out when im listening to serious singers sing like squirrels!:) - September 8, 2001 by Lassie .

sweet as - wow!this is damn quality, pity how it occasionally makes winamp freeze, but the sacrifice is worth it. - September 6, 2001 by oliver searle

yup, just like Donald ;) - For all of us hard-core Sting fans out there, I tried this on "After the Rain has Fallen" and he *did* sound like Donald Duck! EEEEEK!!!! (Just a wee bit scary.) Besides that, upping the pitch gave the music an interesting techno sound; I'm gonna try it with a voice removal thingie and see if I can't get some good dance music. ;-) Also, that was the only song it worked good for. Think U can do something about the crackling? Worth mentioning as well that it doesn't work on CD's. - September 3, 2001 by Professor Gamer

Fantastic... but too much bugs - ... - August 26, 2001 by Mar co

well what can i say - its good its damn good But.....it has a big floor it crashes and burns alot ctrl+alt+del is needed alot with this plud in....its good for the guitatist to learn kool songs with faaasssst lead guitar though so if u r a guitarist GET IT ITS WORTH THE CRASHES - August 8, 2001 by peter brown

tight - this is tight and also get my skins... - August 2, 2001 by matt Coppo

Amazing - I think it's a great tool. It's been the Featured Plugin for what, 5 years now? I'm not surprised. I've found that every song sounds correct if it's knocked up a click on Pacemaker. I don't understand why that is, and I don't care. Pacemaker is absolutely the best plugin I've ever found. I do not use Winamp without it. I'm kinda wondering how the person who made it managed to get speed without pitch change, because I've never seen that done in any other plugin/programs. - August 1, 2001 by D T

Sounds like chipmunks! - I can make all my favorite songs sound like the chipmunks are singning them! Gotta love it. Nice work pacemaker people, i'm not picky! - July 31, 2001 by Brian C

hmmm - i cant fined it on my computrer wherer the helldidi it go - July 30, 2001 by Teague smith

cool - It's GREAT!!!! This is so cool. - July 30, 2001 by Daniel Ramirez

rocks - This Rules I made a rapper soud like a harmless chipmunk - July 30, 2001 by 1DJ Is TO MUCH

Fun, but buggy - I would give this at least 4 stars, but it is just too buggy (at least for Win2k). It will randomly freeze Winamp, and I have reproduced this on two different systems. Features-wise, it does resampling quite well, sounds pretty damn decent for less-than-professional software, all in near-real-time, with only a half-second or so delay on a PIII-733 with 192MB PC-100 RAM. If they would fix the bug I have run into, it'd be very nice. - July 29, 2001 by Matt Long

Sweet - nice plug-in - July 27, 2001 by Sun Shine

Nice, but... - Works pretty good, but the design sux (dont know if it's possible to change), and the most anoying of all is that it lacks a closing button, and auto launches when winamp starts. - July 24, 2001 by Mr Blanco

problems... - it's good, but sometimes when I push the NEXT SONG butten the winamp crashes! - July 24, 2001 by Aner Nitsan

oompa loompa - doompa di doo I got another puzzle for you. oompa loompa doompa ti di if you are wise you'll....... download this mutha - July 21, 2001 by steve b

I don't like it because it doesn't work at all. - I really wonder how did they keep it up so long that they could take a prin screen pic of it! This thing is so full of bugs! - July 19, 2001 by Valto Hulttinen

HILARIOUS! - You gotta listen to Dido on this thing at speed +54! She sounds like a little girl! - July 19, 2001 by Chris C.

Don't Like Pacemaker - Pacemaker was cool at first when I downloaded it. But later on it kept crashing WinAmp all the time. I recommend you DO NOT download it, for the sake of preventing ctrl+alt+delete to be used millions of times. - July 16, 2001 by Gary N

Great but too buggy - fix the bugs it allways freezes winamp for me - July 14, 2001 by Tyler Korn

Wonderfull! - I love this thing. I cannot stop using it on all my songs. Plus, it downloaded in an instant, even with my hampster-on-a-wheel modem! Good, good, work! - July 14, 2001 by Qwil man

hear the music the speed you want - Its a wonderfull plugin, as i try to play my favourite songs with the guitar, i can try playing it slower first, thats very good. - July 14, 2001 by Felix Francke

remarkable - it is a great and unique device.....but i give it one star because it's not made for any of my needs.......lol......but for anyone else>.....give it a shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!!!!!!!! - July 14, 2001 by al johnson

nice but.... - what a boring interface. - July 11, 2001 by Light Seeker

yeah! - i spent god knows how long looking for a mp3 player that could slow down my songs so i could learn the parts by guitar!...hunted up and down, downloaded and deleted numerous silly players and they all sucked, all were shareware where u could only play the 1st 20 secs of a song or something and then i stumbled onto this plugin...tried it and lifted my hands to the heavens and thanked the lord that such a simple and easy and pleasant to use plugin for my favourite mp3 player actually existed - July 9, 2001 by dawn ong

That's all you need - You must hear what's speed & pitch & Tempo can do. Mega awesome and easy to use tool with much rate all the way. - July 7, 2001 by Pieter Meeues

propa - real on directsound : -7, -0.11, -7. but then hey me dragon stomp 2 monztar jungle. Knowlegde iz darkness. - July 7, 2001 by no name

WoW! - This really is impressive, good going Olli - July 6, 2001 by Mike Hunt

GenesisX - PaceMaker is one of the best DSP plugins that I have found yet. It's a must have for screwing a song. Only draw-back is that there is not a chopper. - July 6, 2001 by Mark Zapalac

Kick Ace - This plugin is absolutely kick ace. Kudos to the author. - July 5, 2001 by Devon Siveny

Ray.G - i think it's a good application but i cant start it becouse after i push next he stopped with the instalation program - July 3, 2001 by Raymond Gerritsen

Awesome - infinitely useful if you are trying to learn to play a song or tab one - July 2, 2001 by Tony Slagle

Hrrmmm - it is the best pitch/speed adjusting plug-in ive found yet, and i only have one thing against it:- if it is left open and you decide to flick through your playlist it tends to crash winamp :/ other than that it works fine!!! - July 1, 2001 by Dave K

AWESOME FOR GUITAR PLAYERS!! - This Rocks!!!!! If you are a guitar player and are practicing cover tunes, you need this plug-in!! I make MP3's of all the songs I am practicing and some are in differnt keys. This lets me change songs that are in the key of D or E-flat into the key of E without changing tempo! So I can play my entire playlist without changing my guitar tunning for certain songs. It also is great for my singer who is following the key the guitar is in. This Kicks Ass! - June 30, 2001 by MIKE GRECO

Well....I don't know - I would not give this program a good rating because I find that it's kind of useless for most users. The creator should of thought of making something more interesting.Anyways .....WHATEVER!! - June 30, 2001 by Anthonyo Alvarenga

Excellent - Great tools, i always want to change the tempo without affecting the song, now its easy with this, GREAT - June 29, 2001 by BILLY .

420 - pice of shit - June 29, 2001 by ass ass

ITS COOL - YOU CAN MAKE MEN voice turn to a lady?s voice...and viceversa - June 20, 2001 by Edmund Sterling

Great! - Some of the computers I use seem to play anything other than CD faster than normal speeds. This plug-in is a patch for this problem (that is until I can figure out what the probelm is) - June 19, 2001 by Marc Turner

Awesome Plug-In - Perfect tool to screw cd files and/or mp3's, but I wish someone will create a chopper tool to mix with this awesome PaceMaker tool!!! - June 14, 2001 by Tony Lopez

Good, but chock-full of Bugs. - I like the way you can speed up the song without the pitch deal, but when I'm stopping, slowing it down, speeding it up, or even exiting Winamp, the program freezes, and I have to do the Ctrl-Alt-Del shuffle all over again. Fix the bugs and call me in the morning. - June 10, 2001 by Bridget Brown

simple, efficien - does the job - this is just a great tempo mixer. the fact that it is simple is the best part in it. just move the sliders and the tempo, pitch or speed change. if there is a down side it is that the change take little bit too slow but the minus isn't evan worth removin a star. the plug-in is very small - for those with the modem. - June 7, 2001 by yoni t

Shut down - This is really a great tool. The best of the ones i have tried :-) Only downside is that it makes winamp lock up when u "jump" from song to song. And when you are playing u can't shut it down with out locking up - June 5, 2001 by Hans Harhoff

This is the bomb tempo mixer - this is sweet. mess with the tempo and pitch individually, or completely speed it up or slow it down. Awesome tool - June 1, 2001 by Mike Deck

joystick? - i would love to be able to control this thing with my joystick, but great job anyways - May 28, 2001 by patrik bangle

This beats all!! - What can I say??? This Rocks!!! I've always wanted a program that could easily and quickly change the speed of a sound file. All it needs to be able to do now is make Winamp play songs backwards. I.e. in reverse. - May 27, 2001 by The Chookman

Perfect for guitarists! - This tool is ideal for figuring out guitar parts, since you can slow the recording down and yet keep it at the same pitch of the original. Thanks Olli, nice work!! - May 27, 2001 by Pete R

Really.. - This is grea. wsom. I made Papa Roach sound like alvin on the chipmunks. But bass would make a great addition. - May 25, 2001 by Steve Wojciechowski

paced my computer to zilch - crash city! can not get this thing to run. help! - May 25, 2001 by Biker Chick

WEEE - Very fun and cool.. my radio listeners like n.. however they hate when the radio goes silenced cause this plugin crashes winamp every now n then.. - May 22, 2001 by Alex Palex

Da Best - This could be the best thing ever but sometimes it crashes my winamp. - May 20, 2001 by Michael Jonathan Evelyn

THIS IZ DA BEST THING IN DA WORLD - REMAIN CIVILIZED? HOW CAN I? this is the best thing in the world it looks useless but it beats the crap out of every thing else i got on it so tell every1 and give it 2 every1 k thats my opinion - May 16, 2001 by vic c

Pace Maker Pluggin - This baby really rocks! "It's the best Tempo, pitch control Winamp has to offer". Sincerly, I love it! Not perfect, but I love it! It works great! - May 16, 2001 by bass 306

very nice - super easy and effective - May 12, 2001 by Chris Ludwig

Finally I found it! - I've been looking for this plugin for a long time. I had a similar one, a long time ago, but I lost it! This is simply perfect, you can even change male voices to female ones, and vice-versa. - May 8, 2001 by Michael Romano

this is too crunk - I love this plug in now finally i can take music at my pace - May 5, 2001 by J Beard

A great plugin ! - Great for musicians rehearsing in front of a computer. It crashed my winamp a couple of times , but I still give it five stars. Great job ! - May 3, 2001 by guillermo etcheberry

cool one - i like it very much :) - April 23, 2001 by Adrian Iosif

pretty cool - this thing is great - April 20, 2001 by James Kim

rubish boo - A terrible plugin,it needs a lot a workin on to get to 5 stars - April 20, 2001 by jack insole

awesomeness - this is just fun to mess around with when you are bored and are just jamming on your guitar or whatever - April 15, 2001 by Matt Brown

Great! - PaceMaker is one plugin I'm constantly using. If you're trying to learn how to play a song and you want to slow it down, you can do this WITHOUT CHANGING THE KEY! You can ALSO change the key WITHOUT changing the TEMPO! Musicians will probably find this tool useful, others may just find it fun.. (or pointless) Using the pitch controls seems to produce an "echo" effect, but it's not as noticible when you're not changing the pitch very much.. (Changing the Tempo slows the song down, and increases the pitch to compensate, so changing the tempo produces this "echo" effect also.) Overall - PaceMaker does what it says it does, no more, no less. :) - April 6, 2001 by Jeff Spidle
