A plug-in that controls mIRC, indeed. But it looks like it is a slightly modified of my original mIRC plug-in? I don't see any innovation? -J

I beg to - To Jeremy Kudlick's comment (see "More Comments") no, the plugin does work with /describe, /say doesn't work in the multi-server mIRC versions because of the way mIRC assigns IDs to the various server connections. You could do it the roundabout way, make the plugin set a variable then have another script that picks up on the fact that the variable just changed, and print the contents of the variable to whatever they wanted, but that'd be a pretty complex thing to do... I think BinaryC's gen_irc.dll plugin does the same thing, plus lots more, and it's fully-documented inside the plugin's config window - and you can control Winamp FROM mIRC via DDE commands. Nifty :) I'll challenge you to find it anywhere on the Winamp plugins site tho... If you want it email me: [email protected] - January 3, 2003 by Christopher Woods
why? - Justin appears to have come up with a perfectly good one already. This does the same job, less efficiently, with less features. Im sorry, but I dont see the point in it at all. - June 19, 2002 by Kris Welsh
SPLAT! - I just downloaded the latest version from the author's website, version 1.2. It works fine until i listen to a shoutcast stream, then winamp sort of dies. (Looks like it can't take the buffering flood:P) - April 30, 2002 by Jah -
Works perfectly, dosen't crash - Comparing this to Justin's plugin for roughly the same idea, this one works better by far (though you might need to go to the homepage to get a newer version.) Justin's plugin crashes winamp all the time for me, no clue why, this one has a delay timer so that when you go scrolling through your playlist you dont flood out of IRC. And in regards to the 'floating point' problem reported with this one... what are you doing without floating point?? Last I checked any computer should be able to handle float math. - November 26, 2001 by Jonathan Steinert
CRASH - as soon as I started winamp it crashed with 'floating point not loaded'.. now what I ask is why does a mIRC plugin need floating point?!? seems rather suspicious to me... - November 13, 2001 by Triffid Hunter
It's okay, but ... - This plug-in does not allow the use of any type of mIRC command other than /echo. /describe, /me, and /say are not supported, and this plug-in reverts back to the default /echo... whenever I exit and restart winamp. It needs some work. The one star is for getting /echo to work correctly. - July 19, 2001 by Jeremy Kudlick
Does the job - Good plug-in. It does what it is made for. I use it all the time :) - May 8, 2001 by Sean McManus
