ID3Tag
Re-Tags MP3 files to latest ID3 version
Re-Tags MP3 files to latest ID3 versionBy using id3lib and the media libary's great talent of finding track names from file names this program merges malformed ID3 tags with guesses made by ml and creates a new tag. Great for files that mp3 players won't recognise.

After first having to get
On trying to use this plugin which appears as a media library, no matter what media was dragged onto the view or as per the info in the plugin's screenshots, nothing appeared to happen (the files were never updated.
Nice idea but the current implementation appears to be flawed from the tests made. Some info on how to use would be useful since relying on just image screenshots isn't ideal.

Causes error - Upon installing it it causes Winamp to have the "unable to locate id3lib.dll" error. Only way to remove the error is to uninstall Winamp and re-install it. Would like to have this plug-in working, but it blows the way it is.Back to the drawing board buddy. - May 25, 2009 by john082061
Tricky - Well, I've been trying to find a plugin that this one does for FOREVER and it seems that this one is the only one that takes the titles Winamps generates and writes them to the mp3's ID3. If you can get it to work, it's amazing! Especially if you have an ipod that only reads ID3.HOWTO:- Firstly, do NOT attempt to use this plugin with any other format (such as wma, ogg, aac) except MP3 as it WILL BREAK the file and render it useless.- Secondly, as said above, you much go and look id3lib.dll on the net and put in in winamps folder.- Thirdly, a handy way to filter out your MP3's is to create a custom "smart-view" in the media library to display only mp3's. You can then drag these files to ID3Tag on the bottom of the tree on the left (under playlists, online services and portables)BRILLIANT idea but needs work. Would be great if I could have the source code to better this plugin. Will try and contact the author to do just this. - January 26, 2009 by Constant Meiring
Doesn't work! - After downloading the dll (which is not supplied), it doesn't seem to work! The idea is great and I would really like to have such a tool, but I can't seem to get it to work. If you can, please let me know at: [email protected] - November 25, 2006 by Juan Le_Roux
