Announce your current track to a variety of output channels (mIRC,MSN,MySQL)...

gen_announce is a Winamp 5.x plugin which will announce the currently playing track to a variety of output channels. Output capabilitys include mIRC via DDE, MSN Messenger via Now Playing, MySQL via SQL command. Integrated SSH tunnelling support for MySQL and future output channels.

Another now playing plugin with a slightly different take on things. The misc options to ignore certain file types is useful especially if playing certain video files. Was up and running quickly though the preferences look a bit out of place with all of the space on the pages.

Lookin for a few more features.. - Seems to be something wrong with it. In Winamp, when one song finishes and the next begins, the status on MSN doesn\'t update and just goes back to normal. - January 21, 2008 by Steve M

MySQL Wishlist - Firstly I'd like to say this is a great plugin but I would like to know what values can be extracted for use in MySQL. I would especially like to be able to use the file name but the winamp %filename% tag does not work with your plugin. It would be nice if the general winamp tags (%filename%, %tracknumber% etc) could be used by your plugin. Eagerly awaiting the next version. - February 1, 2006 by Clive Roux

its a hectic plugin - its about time this plugin has been released. i hate having to use windows media player to show the song im playing. At Last - MSN Plug-in That Work! - Just wanna say thank you for finally providing a MSN Messenger plug-in that actually works, I must have tried 3 or 4 previously without success. Could use some more options - this worked well and all. The one thing I didn't like though is how the only thing you can export to the mysql database is the %s. I was hoping to give a little bit more information to my website about what im listening to.. Hoping the next version will support all the options and possible (would be cool but not necessary) to have all the functions the playlist area does as well. - October 21, 2005 by Micheal Winger
