CUE Player - Displays a cue sheet as a collection of individual tracks on the playlist.

Staff review

Cue file functionality

Creates virtual files in Winamp's playlist based on a cue sheet. There are a few (not as many as before!) known issues listed in the author's readme file.

To install you need to make sure the download is in your plugins folder (unless you want to manually copy them).

Great - Great plugin!I recently started using iTunes on my Mac instead, and found a great alternative to this plugin called iCue.http://icue.alexkarpus.com - March 27, 2009 by jack baur

CUE Player Can't Handel UTF-8 - Normal CUE is Working Fine. But CUE Include UTF-8 Text is Breaking PathText so Winamp Can't Find Each Track.I Keep Tryed Execute Winamp to Other APPLocale Mode. But Stil Textcode has Borkenlike - COWBOY BEBOP O.S.T.1.APE->???- COWBOY BEBOP O.S.T.1.APEother Program. "The KMPlayer" can Handle UTF-8 or other TextIncorded CUEsheet. - October 21, 2008 by 620 hong

the basics are working ... - I use WinAmp 5.541 and I like this plugin, but unfortunately it's not working well with the other both plugins "Pause And Resume" and "Pause Between Songs". When a song in the playlist ends, "Pause And Resume" will play about one second of the next songs in the playlist, then pauses, and then continue with the next song. The other plugin "Pause Between Songs" doesn't work at all in conjunction with CUE-Player. Sad ! - September 18, 2008 by Big Daddy

Just useful to browse one-file albums - ...But has noticeable limitations. If you play/enqueue a folder containing both the CUE file and the source audio file, the album will be twice in the playlist. Then, if you enable "Unpack cue files when added" option and your playlist comes empty, an external exception EEFFACE will pop up in loop until winamp.exe process is killed. You can edit in_cue.ini to workaround this by modifying this option as follows :unpack_cues_in_media_library=false - May 17, 2008 by Stphane F

Oops... - Looks like it cannot work well with Winamp5.5...Is there any update available? - November 22, 2007 by Ruru Haibara

Shuffle Jumping - Great plugin but it has one annoying "feature": it very often jumps to next track if shuffle is on (playing start of track and then going next one). Tried 0.57 release and change settings but still same :( Hope to get fix here. - August 2, 2007 by ape man

Greatest Plug-in ever - Great work, and btw, it works with latest version 5.35. Visit developper page and get a latest version.http://etono.cplusplus.se/cueplay - May 22, 2007 by Ilya Kolesov

Best of the Best - Still going strong! I've used for years and always worked great. I recently had to reinstall...make sure to get current version from http://etono.cplusplus.se/cueplay/ Took me a little while to figure that out. Version downloaded from winamp.com is older, just use link above and you'll be set! Thanks for the great plug-in! - March 30, 2007 by Chad Boyce

New version 0.56 working with Winamp 5.33 - Sorry for my comment yesterday. The updated version on http://etono.cplusplus.se is working well with newest Winamp 5.33. It's amazing work you've done here! Thank you, it's working great. - March 21, 2007 by Benny M.

Does not work with WinAmp 5.33 - Dear Henning, you've made a great input plug-in - I've used it for 2 years now until WinAmp version 5.24. Please update it to make it to work with newer WinAmp versions. It does not work with 5.32 and 5.33 - I've tested both. Best regards, Benny - March 20, 2007 by Benny M.

Amazing - This is an amazing Plugin!! I use it till it was uploaded. If you have problems using this plug-in with a never version of winamp, set the winamp.exe into the compatibilymode of windows 95/98 and it will work again. Big THX from Germany! - March 3, 2007 by Sven Miltz

hello - Thank you for great plugin! Please add support of \"REM DATE\" (year of album) tag in track names! Now it\'s impossible to make year of album visible in playlist window! Sorry for my English. - October 31, 2006 by mitek soxatyi

Excellent - Fantastic plugin- Now broken in winamp 5.3 - whats changed now - September 29, 2006 by Try Forsure

Winamp 5.3 broke this - Once again the newest version (5.3) of winamp has broken this amazing plug-in. Stick with 5.24. Nothing in 5.3 could possibly be worth losing this plugin over. - September 29, 2006 by Todes Angst

Great Plugin - Function well with Monkey Audio Thanks you Mr. Henning F?rnstr?m! - August 10, 2006 by CHIT YIP

Very GOOD! NICE! - June 28, 2006 by wd 40

thanks - this one is a needful thing - May 3, 2006 by Matvey Andreyev

really nice. - easy as 1-2-3, extract, install, use. I just associated .cue-files with winamp, executed one, and off it went. much thanks for this great plugin! - April 27, 2006 by Johan T

Best Plugin For Cue - I Don't Have to Say Anything ... Try It, Love It coz You Need It! - April 8, 2006 by K Csipa

Don't know how to use it - Hi, I unzipped the file into the winamp/Plugins directory and I can see it in Input plug-ins list (CUE Player v0.5b). But when I add a CUE file in the playlist, I try to play it and nothing happens (no audio is played, nor a list is expanded) I know the file is not corrupt 'cause I can play it with foobar2000. What am I missing? Thanks in advance Facundo - March 8, 2006 by facundo perez

It doesn't support indexes... :( - Great plugin, but it doesn't work with indexes, and it plays just INDEX01, and ignores the others... :( - January 6, 2006 by Vlada LordVLAD

Great but... - Very useful to playback .APE's files separated tracks. I only miss being possible to use burn to CD from current playlist or from playlist in library. However congratulations. - December 8, 2005 by Alfredo Falco

Great CUE Player - This is a GREAT CUE Player, and although it may not work for the newest Winamp player, you can get it to work with APE files with this: http://skymmer.front.ru/in_ape.zip Put that into the plugins folder and you'll get a detailed view of every APE files. - November 20, 2005 by Jeffrey Lai

crashes with 5.11 - I love this plug-in. I have used it for about a year. Almost all my collection is the album + cue so it was really nice to have something like this so I can pick tracks. It has always worked well until the latest version of Winamp (5.11). Going to reinstall 5.0 and hope it gets fixed in the future. - November 15, 2005 by chris sidden

OMG - Great plugin, very useful. I just have problems with it after i installed the newest 5.111 WinAmp. Some bug in WinAmp. When i use it now it crashes. I hope they fix it soon. I think last working versio was 5.094 or so. OMG - November 2, 2005 by Ivo Seki

nice - nice work :D - October 16, 2005 by RenaFuse Loewen

This is just what i was looking for - Thenx for this plugin. This is perfect for me. No additional windows, simple and easy. :) - October 2, 2005 by Christian Lopez

1 strike I gave up - Let me know what my problem is or if I can help fix it, but I installed it, ran it one time hit the track 1 track one plays and goes to the next one, ok. hit track 2 or 5 or any and track 1 plays and time says 00. I can jump into the middle of the nth track and it plays ok but I can't just hit nth track and get it to play. - September 30, 2005 by Phil thePhil

really nice plugin - CUE Player works fine with my WinAmp 5, thanks for the great work! - September 11, 2005 by Benny M.

only .CUE player you need - Screw foobar and the mp3cue plug-in for winamp. Use this beast. Set your .cue files to open with Winamp, and (provided their filename line is correct) you'll get a sweet treat when CUE player "cuts" up that massive long DJ set into the tracks in the Winamp playlist. this is the only .CUE plug-in or player you need. everything else sucks compared to this one. - July 15, 2005 by drew maust

Add ability to split audio files - Cool plugin. Would be nice if if worked in tandom with the native output plugin in Winamp. I loaded a cue sheet from a WAV file and then attempted to output into seperate files with the track names...can't do that though :( I was hoping it would because there's a serious lack of audio file spitters out there that can split using cue sheet info. - July 13, 2005 by Steve Monroe

Nice plugin and A Question - A very good Plugin. This functions should be built in Winamp by default! I'm searching for such a plugin very long and finally now I can get rid of the buggy old never real working mp3cue ;) Is it possible to open a MP3 file and then the plugin automatically finds and opens up the virtual files (the cue file) in the playlist? Or is it just possible to open the cue files instead of the MP3 files? - July 6, 2005 by Solution Vega

Very good - First i have had same problems with my existing cue Files (because of the INDEX IGNORED) but now it works fine. One little error i found in the media library: As artist for a cue-File appears not the artist of the whole file, instead of it the performer of first track is shown. I have also problems changing cue-Files, with this plugin. But may this will follow soon. One question: Is it possible to burn a Audio-mix CD with that cue-File out of winamp? Thanks for this great plugin. - June 11, 2005 by Rico Zienke

Thanks for that plugin! - As promised, i add one star for WAV support! If I could, i would even give you one more for AVI support: i use CUE Player to make chapters for all my DIVX and XVID movies. For me, it's the most useful plugin i ever installed. - May 22, 2005 by Philipp Urech

great job! - Really a great Plugin for Winamp. I use it since the first public releases and I use it every day. Very essential and works great with any fileformat. (mp3, flac, ape, mpc...). This plugin should be nativly integrated in Winamp for a long time... Thanks a Lot!!! - May 16, 2005 by AA112 asdf

almost 5 stars... - Great little plugin this! It displays the info from the cue file the way it should be displayed: in the playlist window. One thing though: could it ignore the extension of the image found in the cue file? Or at least search for other possible images if the image is not found. (e.g. look for CDImage.ape even though it says CDImage.wav in the cue) Lots of people rip to wav, compress with an external compressor and don't bother to change the name in the cue sheet. Otherwise: exactly what I was looking for a year ago when I found mp3cue, and I like this a lot better! - May 5, 2005 by Hans _

Thnx a lot for this plugin - In Russian: ?????? ????? ?????? ? ????? ????????? ??? ??????????????? ape, flac, ? ????? ?????? ??????, ?????????? ????????? ??????. - April 28, 2005 by pavel ustenko

don't work - this plug-in don't work for sh*t - April 15, 2005 by mark hyde

No Album name option - I have Winamp Adv. Title Formatting set up, and I have to disable it if I want the tracks to show their names rather than just the album they are from. When I disable Winamp Adv. Title Formatting, only the artist and then track name is displayed. It would be good if it showed the artist name, then the album name, then the track number, and then the track name, allowing the playlist to be sorted by title and retain the original track order of the albums. If there is a way to do this, there was no information telling me how, and I couldn't really be bothered playing around with Winamp Adv. Title Formatting to see if I could rectify it. Some kind of plugin configuration to change the display options would be good. Overall, it's a great concept that just doesn't work for me. I'm sticking with mp3cue. A shame really. I really like the idea behind it - it would have enabled me to randomly pick tracks within albums. - March 16, 2005 by Simon Chester

Cue Player - Very Nice !! i don`t have to say more then this :D its the Thing im ever searching for and now i found it .Its simple to handle and works fine at my Winamp 5.08d. Thanks for this - February 24, 2005 by Birger Kaudasch

works with APE too! - Great plugin, works with any format I've tried it with! These APE images of whole CDs have just become a lot more useful! - February 11, 2005 by Adam Gashlin

Very useful! - I'll give u one more star when CUE Player supports also WAV files! Nice job! - January 15, 2005 by Philipp Urech

gj - very nice job. I was expecting something like that. - January 1, 2005 by byblo byblo

Good! - Needs ogg support - December 16, 2004 by Wing Cai

Needs ogg support - Kewl except it doesn't support ogg :( - December 4, 2004 by Antony Denyer

i like it better than mp3cue ... - .. because it more fully seperates them into virtual songs and lets you keep working with the playlist as you always have. unfortunately, the playback quality is awful. everything i've tried comes out with a high-pitched metallic ring. *** IF ANYONE KNOWS how to correct this, please send me a hint at jonathan dot dye at afterglo dot ws *** - December 1, 2004 by jon dye

very nice! .... BUT... - this is what I've been waiting for, almost. mp3cue's way of implementing .cue support isn't my favorite. I want it to be implemented in a way similar to how .m3u files are, which this plugin does, almost perfectly. I say almost, because there are flaws and 'missing' features. Here are a couple of quick things: 1. when playing the cue-file the first time, it creates the tracks, but doesn't play them. I have to press play once again to play them. a small flaw, but still a flaw. A fix for this problem would be to create the tracks when the cue file is loaded, not when played. 2. it does remove the cue-file from the playlist, as it should, but it does not remove the full-length mp3 file, which I think it should, if a cue file is detected with the same filename. However, this should probably be an option, as I'm sure there are occasions when this should not apply. 3. ofcourse, full Media Library support would be heaven. Otherwise, I gotta say this is an awesome plugin, and I hope you continue improving it. - November 30, 2004 by Linus Brolin

I'ts cool but not needs work - The problem is that does not recognise mp3's larger than 100 min, but is realy great ,nearly detrone mp3cue. - November 25, 2004 by Sorin AC

PERFECT now - When I first reviewed this plug-in back in october it just fell short of dethroning gorrilasofts mp3cue plugin as the best cue file parser. I am pleased to say that this new version has fixed all the previous problems it had and this player is NOW PERFECT. Well done Henning a fantastic effort mate. - November 9, 2004 by Todes Angst

good idea, but... - good idea, but it would be great to have a selection of which decode plugin to use (as i understand it is hardcoded to in_mp3 ?) - November 7, 2004 by alexon alexon

PERFECT - It's still perfect. I got some files from my friend which were cue-files and now i can hear them with Winamp, so that I don't have to cut music with other tools. THX A LOT - November 6, 2004 by Martin Hartmann

Good plugin - Good plugin, does what it says it does. It seems the problems mentioned in the other review are fixed in version 0.3. The only problem I get is when I open a .cue file with winamp, it won't work. I think Winamp threats the .cue file as a playlist. When I manualy add the .cue file in the playlist it works fine. A feature that would make this plugin prefect would be a link to CDDB. - November 2, 2004 by Pepijn Bicker

So much promise !! but needs work - I REALLY like this plug in, but it is still far from perfect. Up until now mp3cue was the plugin of choice to parse cue files into winamp. After trying this plugin all I can say is 'So Close to dethroning mp3cue it's not funny' This plugin has an EXCELLENT parser and displays all the tracks in the cue file in the 'Playlist' window showing their running time. This is EXACTLY what I want in a cue file plugin. The biggest advantage of this is that the information in the 'playlist' window is fully supported by Mirc mp3 scripts and displays the exact track you are playing from a mix set. This is impossible with mp3cue. So well done to the author on this aspect. Sadly, there are a few random events that occured while using this plugin that pull it down and leave mp3cue as the cue plugin of choice. 1) The playlist sometimes doesn't play in order (no shuffle is not "on") and a track much further down the track list will play instead of the correct one. NOTE: This seems to be a random event. 2) There is a VERY noticable pause/click when changing tracks in the playlist. probably due to the codec re-seeking the correct position in the mp3 from the cue file info. THIS BUG NEEDS TO BE REMOVED as the plugin is useless while this pause exists. Otherwise, a very good effort that with a bit more work will easily topple the great mp3cue plug in. - October 16, 2004 by Todes Angst
