Wish it didn't pop up the CMD box - Suppressed the popup (so it doesn't drop fullscreen games) by creating shortcuts to CLEveR.exe then switching shortcut properties to minimized. You can then map any multimedia keyboards media keys to launch the shortcut. - June 12, 2009 by RoyalWitCheese
Brilliant! - This suits me perfectly. I needed something that would allow my keyboard to hotkey for winamp. It would currently work for everything else. Keep up the great work! - April 5, 2007 by Michael Lloyd
Excellent, but a question - This is exactly what I was looking for. One question, though. How can you specify a url rather than a filename? - February 5, 2007 by Zeke Blackwell
Awesome - I also used this for batch execution. I think automatically starting your winamp playing your favorite internet radio station when you startup windows is, well, a clever idea. This let me do that pretty easily. winampauto.bat @ECHO OFF CALL WAIT 10 C:\PROGRA~1\Winamp\winamp.exe clever loadplay the-edge.pls clever play wait.bat @CHOICE /T:N,%1% > NUL the-edge.pls (download or make a pls file for your music or radio station) clever.exe Then just add a shortcut to winampauto.bat from the Startup folder. I recommend using properties on the shortcut to make it close when it's done and run minimized. - August 21, 2005 by kc kcman
works perfectly and is simple! - I love it, works without a flaw. it can acctually make it fatser to use winamp than clicking on buttons ( laptop with poor touchpad) - July 10, 2005 by dean ward
Works great - I suggest you add 'command' and 'line' (as separate words) so that it is found easier on search. (Also, author's site is not accessible.) - April 4, 2004 by Bernard Dickman
Great utility - Have been searching for quite some time for this exact tool. Was beginning to think about just writing one myself... this has saved me a ton of work. I'm currently writing some PHP scripts to interact with winamp through a web-based interface, and this is working very nicely for an "API" of sorts. I did have one very frustrating issue trying to get it to work right through my php scripts though (not at fault of the developer). Thought I'd share this tip for anyone who might be thinking about doing the same thing I am. The problem was none of the functions were controlling Winamp. I could query the playlist, but changes I would make to the playlist wouldn't update in the page when I refreshed it. Turns out you need to allow the Apache (or whatever web server you're using) service to interact with the desktop. Without this option turned on your script will be able to get general info, but won't be able to get any real-time info about the Winamp you have running on your desktop. To enable this option: 1) Start > Programs > admin tools > services 2) Find the apache service, right click, properties. 3) Log On tab, check Allow service to interact with desktop. Once this is turned on it works great. - December 13, 2003 by Brad Gagon

Good Job - I didn't expect to find some controls for winamp under MS-DOS mode, good job... this plugin fixes many problems and is helpful with key-programmable function keyboards. Great Job... Did you think this will be helpfull if you make a plugin that allow me to place controls of the Winamp for Visual Basic Programming? ha! just a crazy idea... - July 10, 2003 by Geppetto El Magnifico
Updated - Thanks for the awesome feedback! Updated on 26th of May to version 2.0. (That's why there is no staff review available) Since I have no idea how long it will take for the review to take place, check jukkis.net for the v2.0 .. - May 13, 2002 by Jukka Similďż˝
It's an animal - While many plugins turn their tail at the idea of euthanizing the graphical interfaces many have come to rely on, CLEveR places itself as a serious contender for top dog in the category. Make the Humane Society proud and adopt this puppy today. Good boy! - April 27, 2002 by Luke Bogues
Awesome - i put a shortcut in my desktop and use it with keys Ctrl+Alt+P to pause/continue my winamp whenever i answer the phone or boss is talking - April 25, 2002 by Oziel Garza
Clever - The name describes it perfectly - Brillent! What else can i say. Can have batch files to load my playlists and start playing them at a touch of a button! Can also use task schedular to start playing and stop my files. Wicked! - April 15, 2002 by Kevin Swindells

I came, I spoke! - I read the user review and guess what I said 'Clever'. It really is! Download it! - July 5, 2001 by Giles Cotterill
Why hasn't this thing been downloaded much? - This is a simply brilliant tool, as you can use it not only with Task Scheduler, but also with tools such as the Animax remote and multimedia keyboards that don't directly support apps such as Winamp. My keyboard can now control all the useful bits of Winamp :-) Oh, and it's great with Winkey too, 'cause you can set Window+Z for previous, Window+X for play, etc. so you can do it from anywhere. - June 3, 2001 by Andrew Kurowski
