CLAmp - Drive winamp from command line

Staff review

Commandline controller

This is just the exe but is all you need to get going as the commands are in the program and easily accessible by /?

Works well for what it's designed to do. It doesn't work well if Winamp was loaded with the /class switch but otherwise all is fine.

Comments

Works quite well (limited evaluation) - I wanted this program specifically to be able to play a music file starting at a specific location within the file (and have not tested many other features). The new version 1.11 (which must be downloaded at the developer's website) has this capability and works well. For example, the following command line will reliably start a file at 60 seconds into the file:CLAMP /LOADNEW "myfile.flac" /PLAY /Jump 60000This of course can be done inside Winamp, but for teaching purposes it is nice to be able to automate this process from outside Winamp. - June 27, 2008 by Michael M

Amazing - UK: (for FR look down) amazing ! now you can get what winamp missing ! very easy to use. and the must simply install (because only 1 exe file !) keep it like that !! FR: Voila la fonction qui manquait a winamp !! bravo ! tr?s simple ! et installation comme je les aiment ! CAD 1seul fichier et pas avec un setup qui cr?e des entr? dans la base de registre etc.. encore bravo ! - October 11, 2005 by James Patageul

Looks good !!! - I love command line stuff, and this looks good. We've been using Winamp at our communty radio station since 1997 and I think CLAMP could be a good addition. - June 18, 2005 by John_K Muir

simple and useful - I've used it for a while and it seems to works fine. No problems at all. I whish it had additional commands to (a) list playlist entries and (b) show current vol level. ..... possible future improvements? However, very useful plug-in. Thanks to the author! I've tested it to some degree, and it does what I want - So far, I would recommend this little program. I was looking for something that could start winamp (if it wasn't already running), clear the playlist (if any), insure that the randomizer was either set to "on" or "off" as desired, load an m3u, and start playing. This program makes it possible all in one command, and it does it beautifully. Along with the task manager inherent to Windows XP, it makes a fine automated program scheduler for my low power FM transmitter. So far, so good. I don't know what jack nerchia's problem was on 10 March, 2005, but I have had no problems. - April 9, 2005 by T_Rex T_Rex

***BULLSHIT*** - This is just a piece of junk making just loosing time. It doesn\'t work at alll and i don\'t understand why this ricchione made this unuseful stuff. I saw the site with the option list, tried, tried over... questa e\' merda - March 10, 2005 by jack nerchia
