Awe-Inspiring ;) - Mate this plugin just plain rocks! Have used it for about 4 years now (on and off) and just found my old LED strip and thought I\'d hook it back up. Loaded up UserPort, turned ya plugin on and I had a dancing LED nostalgia trip! lol Also found an old program I made for this same device which sits in the system tray and shows the CPU usage via the LED strip. This is a great simple mod to \"wow\" your LAN buddies with. Throw in a simple IR receiver or two and watch as people stare at awe at you\'re machine as it\'s dancing away to music while you\'re controlling it from the other side of the hall .... Also proves to be a priceless gag for newbies hehe :) - October 21, 2006 by Andrew Trimble

How it works with winmap? - i have build up this simple project in my college lab. it working very best. but as i am electronics engnierring student i have to know about how it work to LPT port from winmap. i know all about winmap pulg-in visulation with any .dll files. but i would like to know how winamp's .dll file work at LPT port ? i have to know about how it function at LPT port ? and can u use this project with out winmap help ? - February 14, 2006 by Krunal Gajjar

Illegal Opreration Problem - To all the people that receive the illegal operation error it is becuase your using an NT based operating system (i.e. Windows 2000, XP or NT 4.0) Since the parallel port is a potential security hole M$ has locked the port for only system operations. To bypass this you need a program called UserPort which you can get here: http://www.twistedmods.com/images/sections/guides/winamp/userport.zip follow the directions and add \"0x378-0x378\" to the left hand box. Click stop, update, and start. The plug-in should work now. -Enjoy - July 12, 2005 by sam harper

Step by Step Guide - This Mod is pretty cool but can be difficult for the beginners in this area. This site gives you step by step directions on what you need and how to do it. http://www.twistedmods.com/article.php?artid=184&page=1 *note: if you are using an NT based OS you will need a program called Userport to get it working.* The Plugin was written for 98 and has security issues with NT Operating Systems. Bunk - I'm recieving the "illegal operation" error. Is this a problem with this plugin + winamp 5? Buying 8 LED's, chopping a cable, and all the soldering is a pain to go through for something that doesn't work. - July 30, 2004 by Asp eritus

What am I doing wrong? - When I'm turning the plugin on, the message is flashing "Plug-in executed illegal operation. Restart winamp is recommended(2)" what am I doing wrong? - March 19, 2004 by Liew SS

How to make the wiring??? - I hope you can supply a wiring diagram on PCB board. I am going to make this, it looks so fun!!! 10s - March 16, 2004 by Tony Er

Schematic Requested - If you could supply a wiring diagram, it would be most helpful, if you give me the basic information, i can write up a full readme, diagrams, and an actual schematic. things i need to know: do the LED's require Resistors? would pin 2 ground to pin 18 while pin 3 grounds to pin 19? - March 11, 2004 by Asp eritus

Help - I had made one by myself and it glow all the time when I plug into my computer. But when I'm turning the plugin on, the message is flashing "Plug-in executed illegal operation. Restart winamp is recommended(2)" what am I doing wrong? - December 7, 2003 by michael kaino

Unrealised potential - Using some quite basic electronics this software is capable of controlling a mains powered party light rig, I'm building one myself but controlling it with the DiscoLitez plugin. - June 19, 2003 by Mike Kean

PINS and LEDS - I see many people are asking for the scheme of the LPT so the signal for the leds is recieved respectively from second(2) to ninth(9) pin and grounding from eighteenth(18) to twentyfifth(25) (NOTE that you count the pins from right to left with the wide side of the LPT on the top) - May 19, 2003 by Vladimir Todorov

Besseres Tool - Nette Idee, aber es gibt jemanden, der sich viel mehr Muhe gegeben hat! Bis zu 32 Lichter a 2,5 kW Lichtorgel per Winamp!! www.discolitez.com - March 25, 2003 by David Kassen

cool, but how to? - can you make an connection diagram or something? i dont know how to build this thing.. i have 9 leds and 3 lpt1 cables i can use. its 19 pins in my cable and i dont know which 16 of them i can use? will 3 pins be over..? please make an "manual" or some other help text/file! - July 12, 2002 by crille s

very good - i have made a copy of this its very good. - June 28, 2002 by daniel sthl

Any chance of a circuit please? - How do I wire up the LED's? (and don't say with a parallel cable) Pin outs appreciated. TIA - February 27, 2002 by Jim C

VERY GOOD ...BUT...... - Firstly we could do with a connection diagram like all ready mentioned. But if you know anything about electronics then you should be able to work it out. I am an electronics engineer so takes some thinking about but should be able to do it ok. Secondly as somebody as said "all we need now is a box transforming the signals to switch some killer spots and I will open my own club" Well this is very very easy to do.You just need the inputs to the led`s taking to bases of transistors via limit resistors, then to thyristors to drive spot lamps. GO ON DO IT! I built the knight rider lights on the front of my car once!!!!! this way. - December 4, 2001 by STEVEN TEASDALE

AwEsOmE! - Totally awesome plug-in & circuit is very simple to make. Now I can't stop watching my leds blinking to the music. Good work! - December 4, 2001 by Michal Wolszlegier

Great idea - all we need now is a box transforming the signals to switch some killer spots and I will open my own club. - December 4, 2001 by Frank Nagel

it's incredible - I think it is most incredible plugin. U must put some work but when U make dis and u start watch your led sytem U will be very sadisfacted. More outside plugins for winamp!!! - December 3, 2001 by Maciek Czarkowski

hmmm - good work...i will have my own little club.... - December 3, 2001 by fizzie saqka

heh... - Flashing leds...Awesome - December 2, 2001 by marc ligon

Well - If the plugin came with the instructions on how to connect each led then that would be cool. i never knew that my computer was so clever, once you get it working though i doubt you wanna stop DJ Jammi Deja'vu Sounds P.S. thankyou Nullsoft for providing a excellent player that is so versitile! i wonder if i can create something for ya! - December 2, 2001 by Jamie Fairhurst
